Looking at the Foundry website… the basic price for individual Foundry blister packs seems to be £12.00 GBP now.

When did that happen? Did I miss it?

I'm on their mailing list, and I've had so many updates on the progress of their Greek mythology effort recently that it bordered on spam… but I don't recall seeing anything about a price rise.

Anyway, if it was announced, and I missed it, and it's old news, kindly disregard this missive.

If it is indeed a stealth price hike, then the Outrage Bus boards here.

Companies are obliged to announce price hikes? I'm just asking because my own company, PaperTerrain, has kept the same prices since it opened over six years ago. I light of postage increases and all I've been thinking about a modest price hike, but I was just planning to go and do it. Will people get mad at me if I don't make a big announcement? Just curious…

I'm not particularly outraged. I only buy the odd pack from foundry now and again with their prices being what they are in the US.

Not so much people will get mad….but with this being an industry where keeping the majority of your customers happy should be your biggest concern, it's at least nice to warn them of impending price hikes and offer some short explanation. You know. "Prices are going up by (X amount) on (x day/month/year) for (reason x)" Nothing major. :P No need for a giant panicky press release.

On the other hand, "Specific package contents may vary" should not have to be construed to mean that you will receive only four of the six listed items if there is no indication of that anywhere else on your commerce site.

They are war-game figures I don't need; so I just shut up and pay.

You know, Foundry has enough specials and discounts that I just wait for one before ordering

yep, dead right. I've never paid full price, and never paid for postage……..it's a good deal if you can wait. Their stuff is cheap when you put it up agains't say GW stuff…….then again isn't everything ?

Becoming more common in retail because most customers are waiting for the seasonal sales before buying anything these days. Just hike your prices – one local outdoor store its over 100% – then have a big 'sale' where you 'discount' the prices back to normal retail or a bit more.

Foundry are the DFS of wargaming. The price advertised is an artificially high price. The real price is what you pay when they have one of their regular sales.

If that's what they are truly doing then someone should call them on it. In Canada, at least, it's illegal:

Sport Chek and Sport Mart, has agreed to stop misleading consumers and pay $1.7 USD million in a Consent Agreement registered today with the Competition Tribunal.

After conducting a search at FGL headquarters in Calgary, the Competition Bureau concluded that FGL had significantly inflated the "regular" prices of certain products thereby overstating the savings to consumers at the so-called "sale" prices at its Sport Chek and Sport Mart stores.

"Consumers are misled and competition is adversely affected when retailers use inflated reference prices in sales promotions," said Raymond Pierce, Deputy Commissioner of Competition.
