Hi Chaps, I play skirmish games for C19 and C20 and would like to have a go at the same for ECW. (Having 15mm for big battles). Using Flashing Steel and possibly Witchfinder.

However most figures seem to be designed to stand in regimental blocks and have rather static poses. Any suggestions for more animated 28mm ECW figures.

Bicorne have some useful packs of pikemen using their swords and musketeers with muskets reversed for clubbing.

Redoubt have such a large range that there are quite a few figures there suitable for skirmishes. They have dismounted cavalry, for example.

Clubmen and dragoons seem to get more skirmish-suitable poses than most from any manufacturer that makes them.

Brigade Games' Swashbucklers range is also useful.

I was looking at some of the Warlord Black Powder/ECW figures for use in Border Reiver games. You can buy a fair few of the figures individually (as well as in packs) so I'd recommend having a look at them to see if they fit the bill.

This may prove to be more expensive than first thought. Ho hum. Thanks guys

I was going to ask a similar question – there seem to be loads of ranges with pikemen with pikes, but none using their swords. I got the bug to try ECW skirmish after watching the TV adaption of 'The Devil's Whore' a while ago.
