What is your favorite army or faction in Alternative Armies' Flintloque fantasy Napoleonic wargame? |

Well that's easy, its the Orcs. Sorry, the Dwarves, no sorry the undead or maybe the Rats, yes the, sorry. Oh why do you have to give me such difficult choices? Tony dampfpanzerwagon.blogspot.com |

I liked those Austrian dogs, whatever they were called. Does anyone in the US even distribute that line of figs anymore? |

Ottermen and Halflings of Aegypt, followed by Orcs/Rats/Hobgoblins of Albion. Usually at one another's throats. EDIt: On reflection swap that round. |

For me it's still the Orcs although the Undead come a very close second. |

It's tough to say. I have the starter set Orcs, and the Deadloque Elves. I really like the character in the Orc Rifles and the Elves from the Witchlands. I've got some Ratmen, too, but they just don't have as much character as the Orcs. Soooo, goblins are the equivalent of the Portuguese? ehhh, too cartooney. |
Ratbone | 07 Feb 2012 7:31 p.m. PST |
I missed the boat on this game, sadly. I wish it was still available. |
Malaki the Wonderer | 07 Feb 2012 8:22 p.m. PST |
It is still available link |
MadWelshWizard | 07 Feb 2012 11:23 p.m. PST |
Heya Ratbone, The game is indeed still available and now has a choice of three rulebooks depending on which theatre of war you want to game in (only one required to play though as all the racial stats can be downloaded for free) and also has an artillery supplement as well. All the games can be found on Alternative Armies (AA) website – link You can find loads of information on Barking Irons Online, the official content portal for AA – link And Orcs in the Webbe is still going too. It's an archive of all older Flintloque content and a showcase for new and slightly off-the-wall articles and scenarios – orcsinthewebbe.co.uk Keep The Flag Flying ! Hello All, This is my first post with my own membership on the awesome TMP! So that everyone knows, I am the creative manager of Alternative Armies and the principle author of Flintloque 3rd edition. You can see all four books in the 3rd edition on the FLQ pages of the Alternative Armies website. Favourite nation or army
this is a hard one. I would say Joccians due to the Irn-Bru fixation but my heart actually goes to the Todoroni. Often hopeless in battle but so much style and flair and great miniatures too. Steve Blease is right on about the Witchlands Elves though and I have virtually all of them in my own collection, they are now mentoring the Trolkin in the eternal fight in the snowy Witchlands. Thanks for posting this topic Bill! Cheers, Gavin. |

I can also recommend the big battle game Alternative Armies produce called Slaughterloo link as the only thing better to fielding a dozen figures a side is to field a hundred plus. Although on a serious note it's also a damn fine game which can be used as a normal Napoleonic game with only minor tweaks |
Crow Bait | 08 Feb 2012 7:02 a.m. PST |
I have to go with Algarvy Goblins. Mean little scrappers. |
Uncle Rogipoos | 08 Feb 2012 7:03 a.m. PST |
A difficult decision. I am torn between the Albion Orcs, "Joccobite" rebel Rats, Todoroni and Othari Otters. (Drum roll While I open the gold envelope)
. "
and the winner is
.The Todoroni of Neopolise!" I first played Flintloque in 2,009 and was immediately "hooked" and have not looked back since. "Uncle Rogipoos" is my alter ego in Valon who posts regularly on Alternative army`s "Notables" page with tales of his various adventures and the general goings on in "Shirewood" the part of Albion where he lives. Huzzah! |

Flip flopped again : ) I think if there were more poses the Halflings would be my favorites. As it is they cannot match the forces of Albion for variety. While not an "army" I am very pleased with the civilian figures of all the races armed or otherwise. |
Tommy20 | 08 Feb 2012 11:09 a.m. PST |
Orcs, though I prefer the original sculpts over the current ones. Despite the screen name, it's been literally years since I've played. Really should drag it out one of these days

Dogmen of Ostaria are by far my favorite. I have a 3 division army of them for playing Slaughterloo. Having said that I like the variety of my Ferach army, Elves, Toads, dwarfs and Trolkin make for a good mix. |

I Love Slaughterloo and have 29 division in my little collection :-) Jules |

Cherrypicher, 29 divisions! You have my respect sir. |

Hello all! It is a very hard one, for me it is between the Dwarves, Todoroni and Halflings! I have to go with the Todoroni because they have a stellar range of Miniatures and some fantastic background! If Halflings get more miniatures, then it could be them! The Dwarf miniatures paint themselves though! Especially the Black Brewswickers! |

Just about all of them. Collecting the LE's and VLE's too. If had to pick just one: The Private Army of Obediah Hogswill. Bits and pieces of them all. |

Just been clearing attic and got back into flintloque, I've been spending too much on e-bay as a result. I like the dogs. I've added some cat grenz border infantry, conversions from the original sharkes rifles. When I get through painting I fancy running a little campaign if I can find another like mind locally. |
The Beast Rampant | 10 Nov 2013 8:39 p.m. PST |
I have waffled a lot on that one over the years. I guess it's between the dwarves (both sides), Todoroni, and dogmen (both sides). Good to see the love for Flintloque! Guess I missed this thread the first time around. |

This is a great thread and its hard to make a choice. I have Elves, Wild Elves, Joccians, Orcs, Ogres and more. Just getting ready now for the festive season at Alternative Armies, we have a little surprise for Flintloque and Slaughterloo fans in store. Also AA is about to get its own blog on blogger so I will post on this once its ready. GBS alternative-armies.com |
