A good friend has, at last count, 10 15mm Napoleons. I have 3 George Washingtons in 25/18mm. No, make that 5. 6? Hmmmm. How many DO I have? And when Eureka or Perry make vignettes of the Leutze Washington Crossing the Delaware I will have more. Anyway, you get the point. How many Julius Caesars, Robert E Lees, Napoleons, Spicer-Simpsons, George Washingtons do you have? They don't have to be in the same scale, because that would be silly! |
| Sane Max | 07 Feb 2012 8:47 a.m. PST |
I have a disturbing number of Ashurbanipals in 20mm. Pat |
| elsyrsyn | 07 Feb 2012 8:49 a.m. PST |
I once had two versions (foot and mounted) of the same Grenadier orc, but they came in the same blister pack. They were, naturally enough, in the same scale. Does that count? Does it count as silly? Doug |
John the OFM | 07 Feb 2012 8:51 a.m. PST |
Orcs always count as silly. |
| Dynaman8789 | 07 Feb 2012 8:53 a.m. PST |
I don't have any. All my figs are Generic, except the Hugh Jarce figure I got with IABSM 3. |
Frederick | 07 Feb 2012 8:53 a.m. PST |
Good question! I have about 3 Fredrick the Greats (two identical) in 28mm About 4 Robert E. Lees (all in 15mm) 3 U.S. Grant (all in 15mm) 2 Stonewall Jacksons (again 15mm) |
Frederick | 07 Feb 2012 8:55 a.m. PST |
Further to the above, the multiple 15mm commander figs are a product of the fact that you don't buy individual figs for 15mm ACW (lots of command packs, lots of commanders) |
| Martin Rapier | 07 Feb 2012 9:01 a.m. PST |
I don't have many 'personality' characters at all, they are usually fairly generic. Even famous guys I've usually only got one of – Rommel, Napoleon, Monty, Julius Caesar, Alexander, Hannibal etc. Hmm, I might have two Montys. I do however have the same unit multiple times, usually in different paint/camo schemes, and often in different scales too. |

There's only one Hercules Barrackdress-Trouser to lead the Soldiers of The Queen onto victory against Osama bin Doughnut! His unfortunate resemblance to another historical personage that may have passed on whilst also defending God, Queen, and Pink Gin may have caused some confusion. Especially since the Perry sculpts are so good
.. Eric (Who has two GW's from Foundry, and maybe an extra Gates or two swanning about) |
| religon | 07 Feb 2012 9:13 a.m. PST |
I once had two versions (foot and mounted) of the same Grenadier orc, but they came in the same blister pack. This was a really great figure. I still have two also
two on foot and two mounted. For historicals, 4 Alexanders is probably my max. For LOTR, I am often amazed by the number of Gandalf figures I have
perhaps 12. |
| elsyrsyn | 07 Feb 2012 9:23 a.m. PST |
This was a really great figure. I still have two also
two on foot and two mounted. With the eye shield and the axe. Yup. Tremendous figures. Wish I still had them, but they went with a pile of 25mm fantasy stuff I stupidly let go years ago. Then again, if I had them now I still would not be using them for anything, so probably no great loss in the grand scheme of things. Doug |

I have 3 different 'not Ming the Merciless' figures, but since they all are not Ming the Merciless, they may not count. I also have Wang the Perverted from Flesh Gordon. |
| Skrapwelder | 07 Feb 2012 9:46 a.m. PST |
I have four Phillip Sidneys. |
| Garand | 07 Feb 2012 9:50 a.m. PST |
For historicals, I have NO characters of personalities. Don't believe in them. I had the Old Glory HYW character pack once-upon-a-time, but divested myself of it. For SF/Fantasy, I don't have multiples either. At least not yet
Damon. |

Yep, a couple each of Napoleon, Montcalm, Frederick der Grosse, etc. Usually in the same scale. |

I'm sure I have 1 Charles the first. Other than 10 Sid Goulds, nothing I can point and say, "That's

4 Joan of Arc (2 Mounted, 1 foot, 1 burning stakes 7 Napoleon 3 Wellington 4 Ney 4 Julius Ceasar |
| corporalpat | 07 Feb 2012 10:15 a.m. PST |
I have an unknown number of Napoleons and Marshals. 3 or 4 Wellington and his staff. At least 2 each Lee and Grant with generals and staff. And two of George Washington. In fantasy I have three (or is it four?) Fellowship of the Ring sets and two sets of Nazgul. Do different scales count? Then the numbers are higher. |
| richarDISNEY | 07 Feb 2012 10:28 a.m. PST |
Nope. Well
. Yes, now that I think about it. I got 4 of the "French Maid" from Reaper. But one is blonde, brunette, redhead, and jet black hair

Inspired by the Black Adder series & many games of "Pig Wars" I've got several figures representing the faux-historical descent of my personal commander: Dubhnather--leader of a Dark Age Irish warband who bedeviled Normans & Saxons with his efforts to steal their pigs & other valuables. His next notable decendant was known as FitzAdder for some reason; he lead a contingent of men-at-arms & archers in the 100 Years War--still after pigs & other loot. A later FitzAdder served Queen Elizabeth as a Deputy Warden of the Marches who tried to make the Anglo-Scottish Border safe for English pigs. By the ECW, a FitzAdder had been ennobled; known as Lord Fairemounte he sought to despoil Puritan pigs & debauch Roundheel, . . . er, Roundhead ladies. It's not fully documented, but a member of the clan may have been an obscure Dutch Buccaneer captain known as the Zee Adder. The next known military leader of the family raised & led an AWI Tory unit with the well-deserved name of Fairmont's Felons. It posed little threat to the Continental troops but was a menace to Patriots' pigs thru-out the Southern Colonies. During the years 1919 & 1920, a Major FitzAdder served the British Crown in Ireland, defending Loyalist persons & possessions (including pigs) from Republican depredations. Thus has a long family line of wandering warriors come full circle on the wargame table. |

I'm not sure if it's the type of thing you mean but I have lots of characters in both mounted and on foot, from history and fantasy. I go out of my way to get figures to use for such. I have no idea how many different people I have like that but it is in large numbers. x42 |

I've got way too many Conans. |
| Altius | 07 Feb 2012 2:25 p.m. PST |
I used to have two Roberts the Bruce, but I'm down to one now. However, I still have two Zhang Zuolins. Plus, in every army I build, there's a guy named Bob. Only I know which one he is. |

I really don't have multiple figures of an historiacal personality. What am I doing wrong? |
| waaslandwarrior | 07 Feb 2012 3:07 p.m. PST |
If fantasy counts, I have at least 15 Gandalf figures, probably more. Most are in 25/28mm but a few are larger. |
Shagnasty | 07 Feb 2012 3:56 p.m. PST |
At least 4 Prince Ruperts in 28 and 3 in 15. |
| optional field | 07 Feb 2012 8:02 p.m. PST |
This may seem odd, but I always avoid painting figures to resemble real individuals. After all if I don't command like (for example Robert E Lee, then why should I have him leading my army? |

A good friend has, at last count, 10 15mm Napoleons. I'm Napoleon, and so is my wife
." Peter Pig do personality packs in the AK47 range, standing, sitting and dead. So thats 3 dictators per pack. I've probably got multiple Montys and Rommels as they seem to have been included in a lot of 20mm plastic figures & kits over the years. They weren't deliberate purchases though. Here's one fascinating Monty figurine. I'm not quite sure where he's shoving his tank!

In the good old days when I didn't know about GW Mail Order, and when there were about three packs of Skaven to choose from, one figure in particular with an artifical eye and a man-catcher, called Throt, was a major repeater. I had about 20 of him. Later on GW retro'd him into a special Character, Throt the Unclean, but until then he was called 'The Beast in the Pond' round my way, after a spell cast on him went badly wrong and he ended up in a lake and we spent a fun few minutes arguing about whether he could swim or not. Even now after much culling I have a dozen or so Beasts in the Pond. Pat |

Etranger – that Monty figurine is so wrong! I can't stop giggling. Who the heck OK'd that figure? |
| NigelM | 08 Feb 2012 9:38 a.m. PST |
I've got a pair of Lt Bromheads but they came as a set anyway. Don't really go for character figures. |
miniMo | 08 Feb 2012 12:42 p.m. PST |
Just counting the ones in the same scale (~4", the ones I use for gaming; I have plenty of others ranging from ~1.5" – 8"), that would be 10 Godzillas! In the following historical suits, duplicates are colour variations in the model: 1954, 1962, 1964, (2) 1984, (3) 1995, 1999, 2002. Plus Godzillasaurus and Godzilla Jr. (1992) brings it up to 12 if they count as the same character ^,^ |
