Yep, finally got around to try out my own armored train for the first time against my buddy Widgren. It went really bad. One of those games where every roll of the dice that you make is ridiculously bad and every roll of the dice the opponent makes is beyond belief. At least I got to socialize and take a bunch of nice pictures. link

I'm 100% sure the price tag in points is not justified. Nearly 700pts – you can get two artillery platoons for that price and throw in a tank platoon as well. And the situation that occurred in this game was also perfect for the train. It was able to arrive and deploy itself in the middle of the German advance – at arm's length from the enemy. It should have done so much more and it completely failed (largely due to the dice, but still). I think I will use it for our upcoming tournament – just for fun. But I really think it should only be used as part of a scenario or something like that. |
