So there was a similar good thread done when hostilities broke out in Libya. I'm curious to know what equipment people have seen in print or video on either side.

For a supposedly "Modern" military force, Ive seen a surprisingly large number of T-55's and BMP1's so far!

Other than that some Russian-made looking jeeps and possibly some T-72's or 64's.

Here is some brief media clips. Curious to see what you have seen!

For anyone who has not watched the combat footage other than the nightly news there are some REALLY brutal vids on Youtube.

The only surprising items are the M16A2 rifles that some of them are carrying. Otherwise, T-62 and T-72s (no T-64s – they were never exported), BMP-1s and BRDMs.

LOL at the police BRDM "camo".

Thanks for the correction. Yeah, I liked that camo too.

The fella with the scoped rifle on this page is holding an M16A1. The rear sight is a dead giveaway. Another is the oval-shaped forward assist.

I also note that the fella on the left in the second picture from the top is holding some model of AK with an after-market M4-style collapsible stock.

Interesting.

Hmmmm. Well…you would not have to wonder which side the tank was on that is carrying a photo of Assad on its front!

"second picture from the top is holding some model of AK with an after-market M4-style collapsible stock."

Good obs! I was wondering what was wrong with that AK!

One other thing I was noticing is there seems to be no uniformity with Syrian Armor camo schemes. Possibly done on a unit by unit basis.

I like the police truck with AK's & SVD's pointed in all directions too. And the add-hock smoke launchers. Reminiscent of Belfast in the 90s.

And all let's hope that Assad quickly falls and the Syrian people get their deserved liberty with as less blood shed as possible and all gaming possibilities will only be fictional.

Lots of M16a1's with the group on Sky news this morning , I wonder where they got them ??

@Aksakal, ahmen Brother! @Dwight, I wondered same thing Bro. I figured from Lebanon & prior Militia contacts w/ Israelies.

The whole gaming scenario does offer some interesting Warpac vrs. Warpac equipment scenarios which always interests me, somewhat similar to Georgia & Chechnya.

Shorland Land Rovers too…shipped prior to sanctions…..calling out for a mini conversion with the DSHK tripod on top!

FN's & M16a1's-You can buy anything if you have the cash….second and third hand 'end users' from govt clearance sales…

I was waiting for someone to comment on the modified Landrover.
