Was planning to paint a motor platoon of these guys to escort my C Company, 3rd RTR around in the desert.

Did they have any identifying flashes, colors or any other insignia? I hate to paint them with nothing but their uniform colors and ranks, but it seems that the Brits often removed everything except the ranks.

Probably had the Guards Bde Flash on the upper right arm, Royal Blue, Purple Royal Blue in horizontal thirds:

Thanks! Since they were with the 4th AB, I assume they were a motor brigade. Is there any on-line info for them ,especially in this battle?

Would they've worn the 8th Army patch on the other shoulder?

I don't know I'm afraid – I would recommend checking out the downloads on the Flames of War website – I think they have some intelligence briefs on various 8th Army bdes…
