…as violence flares.
"For weeks, Western embassies have reduced their staffs, and on Monday, Britain also recalled its ambassador for consultations. Echoing a cascade of diplomatic invective, the British foreign secretary, William Hague, described the mounting violence as yet more evidence that President Bashar al-Assad had no option but to surrender power."

All of them.

All of them.

LOL.

Does anyone produce a 28mm William Hague figure? I was thinking of just using a jelly baby as a stand in but can't decide on which colour. I'm not sure jelly babies would take acrylic paint.

Mongrel, via Newline Design make 1980s era Syrians.

Who makes a "hillary" figure in 28mm? How is it armed?

Fodase – LOL !

anleiher – can we have Hilary through the ages ? Hot Democrats…..mmm…..nice.

jpattern206 Feb 2012 2:53 p.m. PST

Someone once produced a 25mm-28mm Hillary-in-dominatrix-gear mini, with Bill-in-submissive-gear at her feet. Probably not what you're looking for, though . . . or is it? :)

Or prepare for total war. I fear, this is going to be an amazing year for fellows looking for a new modern war to game.

Probably, e.g. USN/Marines being sent in to evacuate Americans, in Syria, possibly (who've been advised to get out), and/or Seal Teams sent in to Egypt to rescue American hostages there.

Not to mention the escalating tensions with Iran.

A friend of mine who lives in Norfolk area says there were no flight deck big ships in port on Saturday. One was putting to sea. Something is up for sure.

Not surprised at all….

I really don't expect a Syria intervention. Very little for us to gain, no election benefit.

The same could be said about Libya as well.

Sen. McCain has now called for arming the rebels, so we'll see how things progress.

Casualties of civilians in Syria are about 5 – 10 x those prior to the Libyan intervention, which our Prez said was a must do task. Interesting he is advocating no action on this.

Seems a bit late keep supporting the Assad is a "reformer" line.

The same could be said about Libya as well.

There was a lot to gain for the UK and France there, and they were the driving force behind that.

Sen. McCain has now called for arming the rebels, so we'll see how things progress.

Yeah, he lost the election. Lots of Senators say lots of crap.

Casualties of civilians in Syria are about 5 – 10 x those prior to the Libyan intervention, which our Prez said was a must do task. Interesting he is advocating no action on this.

He only said that after our allies made it clear they were going in, and asked for support. Before that, his stance was "let them rot".

I don't think Syria has much to offer any of our allies, either.

Incorrect.

"Seems a bit late keep supporting the Assad is a "reformer" line."

True, but the Russians are sticking to it.

That said, we won't engage Syria militarily. The Syrian military is a far tougher nut than the Libyan military was.
