Where might I find cross decals like these suitable for 1/56 scale WWI vehicles? One is just the black cross with white outline; the other a large black cross on a field of white. Yes, I can paint them freehand, but I'd prefer sharper lines than what I can do.

I'd suggest 1/48th or 1/72nd scale aircraft decals. Try Hannants hannants.co.uk |

Anyone make that wheeled armored vehicle for 28mm? It looks awesome – love that V-shaped profile. Dean |

It's an Austro-Hungarian Romfell armored car. There are two available for 28mm figs -- Black Army Productions (which has been quiet for a while) and Scarab. I have the Black Army model and it's superb. That's why I'm looking for appropriate decals. Brigade Games sells a cross on white field for its A7V tank. I'm not sure how big it is and whether it'll fill the area. If nothing else, I'll paint a white field then apply the decal. It'll be close enough. There was a decal sheet on which you could print your own designs. I don't know of the sheets are still available, but that's a possibility, too. Maybe Papilio/Hyaz. |

I think if you are able to accurately paint the insignia free-hand it looks so much better than a decal – the flaws add to the realism. I would paint the white field then use a pencil to gently rough in the cross – when you have it right then fill in with paint |

It may come down to that. I could always make a template of the cross from cardstock, trace around it, then paint it in. Lots of options. Still looking for decals first though. |
