Hi,

I am about to embark on new project; painting a load of 15mm Peter Pig Wars of the Roses figures for use with Impetus.

I intend to paint up a command base for Edward IV and some of the more (In)famous commanders but should I go for generic livery and flags or historical ones?

Cheers,

Kev

Surely use the historical ones?

Yeah, historical liveries and banners. They're very colourful.

Its probably as much effort to make your own as to follow history. Resale value is better for historical!

I am really looking forward to seeing what you do with this project having been a huge fan of your ACW/AWI projects. I have large Peter Pig collections for every range he does but none of mine ever look as good as yours!

Wally, I remember reading some where to pick one battle and just go for that. I'm painting my WOTR for tewkesbury.

starting by painting units for each of the commanders of battles, i.e. Gloucester, Hastings, Eward IV, Somerset, Devon and the prince of wales. to start.

Resale value?…

Well, personally I'd go for generic as I can't imagine reselling. Historical for significant command stands but otherwise I'm not bothered. I can't imagine painting retinue after retinue of the same troops because retinue A didn't fight at battle 1 so I need retinue B but they didn't fight at battle 2 etc etc.
It would be different for a demo game.
