Just posted on my blog an illustrated article I wrote seven years ago about my teenage son's and my experiences re-eacting at Waterloo.

Hopefully some of you might find the article and pictures still of interest after all these years.

Here's the blog article: link

And here's some sample pics from the article (there are lots more if you go on the blog!):

Beautifull pictures Roly!.
A great experience too.
Interesting to see how the British Dragoon horse began to turn because of the french soldiers in his front.
It shows how difficult had be to ride horses against an square on those days.

Many thanks for share!.

The 85e are a fine bunch and a great group to experience an event with. Camped next to them at Jena in 2006.
Got to watch out about those British Dragoons, they can get rather carried away.

Wow!
Fantastic
I joined the Napoleonic Association in the late 70's or early 80's.
But being stuck here in little old New Zealand we could not do much.
But we did order some serge to make some French tunics, but that was as far as we got.
I would love to go to Waterloo one day to see you guys in action and visit the battlefield.

Who's the guy in the grey coat riding a white horse?

Lovely to see the massed British cavalry charge.

If only reality had CGI :-(
