Does anyone have any tips for painting black armour on 25/28mm models, please?

I was looking into this the other day. The option I'm going to go for is Tamiya smoke over the painted metalwork.

Ah, I only searched under "black armour", not "blackened armour (armor)"! Doh!!!

Thanks CS

For me I found the easist way after a lot of attempts is just to dry brush dark grey over black.

GW's Charadon Granite is a good colour to high light black, as is Cel Vinyl's gray 30.

I always use straight Tamiya Paint Gunmetal (#X-10). I like citizen sade's suggestion, and would think that applying smoke over gunmetal will give you the best possible result.

Good luck, Brummie Lad! thumbs up

To be quick and lazy, I just paint on ral partha steel. On 15mm from a couple of feet it looks like blackened metallic to me.
