I've been working on a 15mm scifi project for a while but was running out of funds. So I decided to finish off some old 15mm Napoleonics that had never been used with a view to sell them on ebay. Unfortunately things didn't go as planned and I've ended up buying new larger 18mm Napoleonic figures, mostly from Warmodelling, some from AB and some from Blue Moon. So here is my first ever properly finished Napoleonic units. What do you think? All critisism welcome
I'll be adding more pics of these onto my blog and will post a link once they are up. |

Colin, wonderful presentation, with thoughtful mix of poses to give the units animation and regimentation simultaneously. The base work is colourful and appealing. Neat painting with, IMHO, the brightness needed to bring the figures "to life" on the tabletop. What rules are you basing for? I am interested in seeing your progress, and look forward to your blog post. I am painting and basing French for the new, easy and fun to play Napoleon at War rules. manatwar.es |

They look great. So what have you finally sold to fund the project? |

Thanks for the comments. The figures don't look this bright in the flesh. I think the flash from the camera has lightened them considerably. I'm not basing for any specific ruleset. I'd went through a few options, starting with basing on Flames of War bases – but that option was way too expensive – until I got unit sizes that I felt reflected the look of the period. I may put some command bases together with just four figures. The Prussians are a mix of Warmodelling (Fantassin) and AB. These mix really well and some of the Warmodelling figures are as good as ABs. The French are all Warmodelling. I've finished another French battalion, this one in greatcoats with covered shakos and forage caps, that just needs the bases completed. Then a battalion of Polish Vistula Legion Line infantry from Old Glory that I've had for a decade or two. Hopefully I'll get these finished before I get distracted by another period or genre. |

Eclipsing Binaries – well done indeed. I love the Prussians in particular. Very nice. I look forward to seeing more of your work now that you have the bit between your teeth. |

That basing will work for Napoleon's Battles, Age of Eagles and Shako (and probably more) BTW, these are well done |

They look terrible! But just to be sure, PM me for my mailing address so that I can properly review them. Really, I promise to return them someday
;-) Very nice! |

I can't help thinking that the blue you are using for the French is too bright. But good painting, and I like the charging poses of the top French unit. I am trying to decide whether to use the same pose for all of the figures in a unit, or mix them up. |

Very nicely done all ways around, they would enhance any gamers table or collection. |

Thanks for all the feedback. I know the french look bright. They don't in real life. It must be the flash from the camera. On the table they look fine but I agree that in these pics they look like they're wearing Bavarian blue. |
