I have a nice game of LoTR set for 1:00 tomorrow afternoon. Here are some pics of the battlefield.

All told, there should be a nice big batch of good guys and bad guys mixing it up!

Just a bit of scatter terrain there!

Looks great – AAR please.

What rules are you using?

Thanks,

John

I echo John's question. Can't wait for the pics and AAR.

Great looking table!

Rules will be very slightly modified LoTR. They're bog-simple to start with and we'll have 6 experienced gamers so it should move along. Plus the game is pretty darn bloody. The terrain is meant to represent dry, rocking rolling lands. In the foothills of Anorien. All of the hills and rocky areas are slight rises. They slow you and block LOS but otherwise have no real effect on play.

The scenario:

Hobbits have been tracked to a small village in Gondor and bad guys are in hot pursuit. Obviously the one to catch them will win brownie points with the boss (do they have brownies in Mordor?). A small troop of men defends the area but more may be on the way. Get in, get hobbits, get out.

With a few fun twists of course….

The only issue with the table I have is the split river, it is easy to end up with 2 seperate battles going on.

Nice board. Looking forward to more pics.

I hope to play another game of LOTR soon. Nice looking board, man…lots of great looking terrain!

Well we had a great time but two players didn't show up so we had to try and adjust on the fly. It was not a great success. I shrank the forces, should have shrunk the map too.

Oh well, beer was drunk, dice were rolled.

Looks like a great game. Needs a proper write up mind ;)

Cheers.

Looks like it was fun! I've been working on a river myself lately…doing mine in a single piece though. I hate trying to match up the ends when you do them in sections.
