Kingsleypark's Wargaming Menagerie

Well after a long hiatus the Menagerie is back.

Unfortunately, it hadn't been spent painting lots of figures but hopefully 2012 will bring a new painting zeal.

First up the start of my 28mm Byzantine Cavalry

Nice. I'd like to do a byzantine army some day.

Really beautiful job on the painting! I, too, have been thinking of doing a Byzantine army when I finish up my current projects (probably in a decade or two).

SMC – I have the lead already, just don't have the time.

Lovely. You've also reminded me that I need to rework all my old 25mm Byzantines that are sitting in storage. Maybe we could put them all together and have a really big game somewhere in Scotland? Wishful thinking…

@Caliban – that sounds like an excellent plan!!

But we do need someone to fight the Byzies against. Know any Sassinid players?

Caliban04 Feb 2012 1:39 p.m. PST

I have some Sasanians, plus a load of Arabs that need reworking. I also have an old steppe army that could maybe do as Magyars or Bulgars, although maybe not enough infantry for the latter. One real possibility, though, would be Dyrrhachium against the Normans. Those, I can do. Of course, there's always the occasional Byzantine civil war…

Hmmm, I feel another project coming on!

Civil War? That's what the Byzies were famous/ notorious for!

I was toying with getting a Norman Warband for Saga knowing that I can use them with/ against my Byzies. There is definitely something abrewing here….
