Very pleased to release our first sci fi civilians for 15mm sci fi and NF gaming.  There are two sets, an adult set and a dependent set.

picture

Here are the prime age adults, male and female.  Whilst here they are painted as civilian space-freighter crew they are equally suitable for a variety of other purposes.  As can be seen, big late '70s hair made quite a comeback in the future!  You can even game with one as an android if you prefer.  wink

picture

And here are the dependents, a tween-aged boy, a somewhat younger girl holding a doll's head (something girls in the future appear to be fond of carrying about), an elderly person with a cane and a very pregnant young woman.  These help to further complicate matters for the side that needs to protect the noncombatants.

Both are available now:

Next topic -- armed versions of the first set are being made quite soon, after the sculptor is finished making the Amphibians in battle dress, which leads to the question … what would you like to see those civvies armed with?  Improvised flamers, the Exterminators' pulse rifle, civilian-type firearms … pointed sticks?  The sculptor has one metal master of each so "all of the above" definitely doesn't work as an answer. grin  In other words, if you had to arm each of the adult set with a weapon, what would you want it to be? Can't guarantee I can please everyone but am definitely open to suggestions.  Thanks.

Can anyone tell me what inspired the second set?

The first set is simply awesome…

Pistol, shotgun and hunting rifles seems good for civilians.

khurasanminiatures03 Feb 2012 9:12 a.m. PST

The second set is really just to broaden out the range of civilians, and provide civilians somewhat less capable of fending for themselves. They are not inspired by anything in particular. Well, maybe one of them is. wink

TheCount03 Feb 2012 9:19 a.m. PST

One of them is mostly inspired by "Aliens". Mostly. (Is that a doll's head??)

Just a guess! All of them are cool and nice paint jobs too.

Regards, TC.

PS. I'd go with civilian-type weapons, so they'll work in modern/near-future gaming. I imagine they'd make good Zombie hunters, rioters etc.

These help to further complicate matters for the side that needs to protect the noncombatants.

Come on, let's be fair to the other side … they also provide a more interesting and varied diet.

Nobody calls her Rebecca, except her brother.

Eli Arndt03 Feb 2012 10:07 a.m. PST

How did Carrot Top make it into the mix :)

Angel Barracks03 Feb 2012 10:09 a.m. PST

Which one is carrot top?

Fat Leia?

TheCount03 Feb 2012 10:17 a.m. PST

Or is she pregnant? Might explain why she dyed her hair. She has a craving for Ewok burgers too.

Martian Root Canal03 Feb 2012 10:24 a.m. PST

Awesome stuff, Jon. Will definitely be ordering. For set three, think "Fifth Element." Just sayin' :)

(I make fun of others)03 Feb 2012 10:24 a.m. PST

Or is she pregnant?

She may be pregnant, just a guess, as the OP says she is "very pregnant." Again, just guessing though. evil grin

My thougths too Jim

sharkbait03 Feb 2012 10:29 a.m. PST

Very nice! A good variety of civilians (victims?)!

As for the armed version of the adults, my suggestion would be basic firearms – pistol, shotgun – as BrotherSevej said.

Stepman303 Feb 2012 10:37 a.m. PST

Great figures, I'll be adding them to my order soon…

GR C1703 Feb 2012 10:48 a.m. PST

Not sure why, but I could see having the "big haired" crewman in her undies! For completness sake.

Farstar03 Feb 2012 11:01 a.m. PST

Armed versions of the second set would be amusing, too. Supersoakers for the kids, an axe for the pregnant lady, and a conversion to sword cane for the senior.

The Senior could also go well with a chubby Boy Scout and a dog…

Sloppypainter03 Feb 2012 11:16 a.m. PST

Nice sculpts and paint jobs. I'd like to see the first group armed with a pulse rifle, an improvised flamer (or 2) and one with a scanner/tricorder/sensor. All to back up (heh) the Exterminators against those nasty space demons.

Very nice! Ordered!

I would like to see the civilians carry some pistols…maybe a slung rifle or two?

TheCount03 Feb 2012 11:58 a.m. PST

Porfirio, y'got me there. I was over-excited and didn't read all the blurb. Pregnant, doll's head, it's all there! Hanging head in shame.

Regards, TC.

Dragon Gunner03 Feb 2012 12:27 p.m. PST

The next set needs to be obese.

Thornhammer03 Feb 2012 1:18 p.m. PST

Hey, cool! The crew of the Pastrami, an M-class star freighter owned by the Mayfield-Houstonic corporation!

Bet the big-haired one blows it up.

RTJEBADIA03 Feb 2012 1:27 p.m. PST

Oh, now that you're doing civillians, can I suggest PF as a great sculptor of character models? He could add in some higher tech civillians into the mix…. Would be cool to have different tech levels of civilians…. back water planets with low tech, central planets with high tech, and, of course, suited civilians for hostile environments.

khurasanminiatures03 Feb 2012 1:39 p.m. PST

If I make more civilians, it would be to mix with these, and PF's style is quite different. I'd use the same sculptor if I make more.

PF is great and he's making something else for me right now.

Wolfprophet03 Feb 2012 2:14 p.m. PST

Damnit! Just ordered last night when the Control Battalions came out too….

Really!?!?! How am I ever going to get an order out if you keep adding all this cool stuff daily! Now I've GOT to have these! Seriously, great work as always. I "heart" Chewks!

bandit8603 Feb 2012 11:14 p.m. PST

That looks like Major Iceborg from the fifth element only pregnant

AVAMANGO04 Feb 2012 3:55 a.m. PST

The first set top row are all the characters from the USCSS Nostromo in the Alien film just missing the cat. ;)how cool is that…

Martian Root Canal04 Feb 2012 11:50 a.m. PST

@bandit86: that's what I thought too. Hence my comment.

BlackWidowPilot Fezian04 Feb 2012 5:46 p.m. PST

Hmmm… I seem to recall that there's also some infantry rifles available separately… evil grin

RTJEBADIA04 Feb 2012 6:11 p.m. PST

Oh we need a cat in 15mm.

bandit8607 Feb 2012 2:21 a.m. PST

There also missing Cain but maybe they are thinking of doing a chest buster figure late (with jonesy the cat)

AVAMANGO07 Feb 2012 8:21 a.m. PST

One of these could be Cain with the face hugger already attached.
