Thought those looking for colour images of different uniforms for any War of 1812 bicentennial projects out there might like the following link:

Looking at his site, it doesn't appear he's done a book specifically for War of 1812. I'd likely be interested in that. Best, Dean

I'd be even more interested if it contained a lot of prints about state militas and Canadian militias.

I'm painting Runchey's Coloured Corps for Queenston Heights this week, and I could use some help with that. I think I'm going to wind up painting then in their later Artificier uniform.

Thanks for sharing UpperCanada

For Runchey's, I'd paint them in civilian clothes for that early in the war.

In 1813 I think there's a good chance they wore the green militia uniform for the invasion.

There's a plate in Chartrand's new A Scarlet coat on page 139 (the text and plates are mixed up in the book – the text for this image is actually on page 125.)

The Gareth Ditrick plate has him in civilian double breasted jacket and round hat, and kitted with a stand of arms (musket, cartridge box and bayonet belts).

Oh Bleeped text. I've already started them in blue jackets and grey trousers like the Artificiers.

I suppose I could just repaint them in green. Does their green uniform have red cuffs and collars?

I might have some American militia from Old Glory that could stand-by, in a pinch. They're mostly in earth tones, no grey coats.

I'd love to get Chartrand's books, but they are a pretty penny.

Thanks again.

I think Runchey's in short blue jackets, grey trousers and round hats is fine for the early war, only later would they they have dressed in green.

I'm already well behind the curve, thanks to work, of getting my figures done for Cold Wars. I'm not exactly a Thread and Button Counter, but I would like to get it reasonably close.

Well, well. I suppose I'll just have to take the hit and keep them in blue jackets. I still need to finish my all of my 41st Foot and my 49th's flank companies.

Thanks, all.
Eric
