Hello,

I've posted a few comparison shots on my blog showing unpainted Tin Soldier and Xyston 15mm Gallic infantry together. My verdict – the infantry go well together, but the cavalry don't.

You can see for yourself here:

If anyone has mixed, or is considering mixing TS and Xyston, I'd be keen to hear your opinion.

Edit – aargh, I wonder if the editor could correct the spelling of Tin 'Solder' to Tin 'Soldier' for me?

Cheers,
Aaron

Nope, have to disagree. I looked at doing this too, but mixing a second hand Tin Soldier army with a second hand Xyston one. The result would have been appaling and I kept teh two seperate and sold them both on.

The Tin Soldier are massive compared to Xyston Celts. I think your photography shows that for all of them except the Chieftain with the horned helmet, who is probably one of the smallest Tin Soldier figures anyway. Its not just the height, but the bulk and width of the Tin Soldier ones that are the problem.

Now they would probably work well on their own as opponants for the similarly scale creeped out Xyston Romans though.

Thanks General M, objection noted. You're right with packs C3 and C4, but I still think the others match pretty well.

I've edited the post to include your contrary opinion and to urge a more careful approach :)

Thanks again,
Aaron
