I completed my first unit of Venusian Amazons this week. I decided to add an Amazon faction to my Venusian GASLIGHT games after the release of Wargames Factory's plastic Amazons set offered a cheap way to build such units. As the old saying goes, "Women are from Venus," so I thought a race of Amazons on that planet would be ideal. They will represent an ancient civilization that is on the decline ever since the wild Venusian parrotmen developed guns. Hopefully they will befriend the newly arrived French, and a strong alliance will develop

Excellent – great work on the unique standards as well, they fit in perfectly. |

They do look nice. I hadn't realized they came with a wide selection of helmets--I'd been rather put off by the Corinthian helment they show on the box. Grelber |

I like the look of the copper armor, Chris. I also think the shield designs look right for VSF. I think the alliance between the French and the Venusian Amazons works out in their favor. You know those Frenchies! A hundred hears later, there are enough Venusian Amazons to send some to colonize the Earth.
And they've abandoned spears for ray guns. Buck |

They are really great! For some reason, blue skin for extra-terrestrials has positive connotations,
while green -even before GW Orcs/ Orks- almost always had negative ('reptilian'?) ones. |

TRIGAN EMPIRE Lokans (I think) were blue & they were sinister |

I made my first attempt at a Venusian Amazon Cavalrywoman today. I used components from the Wargames Factory Amazon Warrior, and Roman Cavalry sets, as well as a Games Workshop Cold One from a Lizardman Cavalry set.

Don't be upset by thread necromancy + hijacking, but the new miniatures for the Tsolyani Aridáni Legion of Lady Mríssa, 19th Imperial Medium Infantry
from link would also make great 'non-Earthling' Amazons. The world of Tékumel created by the late M.A.R. Barker is extremely original, the various human cultures for once are not historical ones masquerading under an assumed name, thus the corresponding figurines are specially appropriate for an extra-terrestrial human civilization of Ancient-Medieval level. Though it would probably not be very difficult to give some types of warriors a kind of musket with plug bayonet and an ammo pouch, for instance. |

Give her a blue skin and golden armor (and maybe, given that a chainmail bikini offers far better protection than a full suit of plate armor, a generous 'intermediate' cleavage):
