i took this pic some time ago to illustrate size comparisons amongst my 1:144 scale collection. yes, all of these are the same scale. and no, this is not my complete collection. there is far more to come!

Umm… who makes a 1/144 scale Star Fury and Aliens Dropship?

I think those are 1/72

HornetsNestMinis02 Feb 2012 10:24 a.m. PST

Are you sure? The Jedi starfighter looks really small compared to the A wing.

Great collection tho. The paint jobs are cool.

Awesome.

I have both the F-Toys 1/144 Jedi fighter and A-Wing myself and the Jedi fighter is smaller than an A-Wing.

Nice looking collection Spiff! What, no Tie fighters? :)

What is the craft with the orange panels on the bottom right? I picked one up at a garage sale for sci-fi in 15mm but have no idea what it is.

Republic ARC-170 starfighter.

Spaceman Spiff02 Feb 2012 11:43 a.m. PST

Fantastic Plastic made the star fury and the Aliens dropship. i don't think FP offers the dropship any more, and i know they don't offer the star fury any more.
the starfighter in the bottom right is the ARC-170 from the Clone Wars.
TIE fighters are coming soon. i have a TIE defender, TIE phantom, bomber, heavy bomber, and Darth Vader's TIE.
i can assure you they are all 1:144 scale. i know my scales. the jedi fighters were small compared to the later alliance fighters. i admit, it is quite stunning to see just how big or small the different fighters are compared to one another. i have the Star Wars vehicle guides to confirm the sizes are correctly scaled, though.

I was just about to ask you about the Dropship and where you got it from. Sorry to hear the FP doesn't have that or the Star Fury anymore.

Now that I think of it I don't recall any classic series BSG ships in your 10mm collection. Have any?

HornetsNestMinis02 Feb 2012 2:33 p.m. PST

OK I believe you.

It's strange that the Republic Gunship is smaller than the ARC fighter. Are those the new Clone Wars snap kits? I was wanting to pick some up for pulp Sci-fi gaming. I have the 1/48 Naboo starfighter and its scale is perfect.

Lupulus04 Feb 2012 3:49 p.m. PST

Who makes that republic gunship?
It looks a bit small, is it the Revell one (closer to 1/174)?

Spaceman Spiff04 Feb 2012 4:44 p.m. PST

that is what i thought, as well. the box did say 1:144. the description in the vehicle guide makes it sound like it should be a lot bigger, too. i think it was Revell. i had to get it from the UK, though, because they were not released over here in the states. i think i got 2 of them 3 or 4 years ago. the ARC fighter might be a bit large, too. it was one of the deluxe Titanium series that came with the display box. but it did seem pretty close to the description's stats.
