I know of the xyston pikes, but those have a leaf shaped point. I am looking for a plain pointed end spear of pike for use with 15mm figures that has the same strength and rigidity similar to the xyston ones. I have made my own but have had mix results and is time consuming. I saw that Northstar has some but am thinking that they would be to thick for 15mm.

Straight pins. They come in different sizes and gauges, and the slim point is probably about the right size for a pike in scale. Also, people treat your minis more gingerly. wink

The Northstar especially made one's for 15mm are very good and not to thick, you should be satisfied with them.

Ok I think I will try out the Northstar ones. I see that Brigade Games here in the USA carry them (of course after they are now done with all there sales). Does anyone else in the USA carry them?

You can still get them shipped pretty reasonably. 2 packs will be the lowest flat rate shipping we offer.

Straight pins or "hat pins" from a fabric or craft store. They make your pikes formidible formations for enemy hands! evil grin

Someone recommended floral wire and I started using it. I now recommend it as well. Not difficult to create a point on the wire.

Black plastic broom "straw". A cheap source of my 15mm Pikemen for many years. The diameter is right for scale, and it bends back in to the correct position when touched. Cut the end pointy, paint, and glue. When you're done, you can use the leftover broom to sweep up.

I use entomological pins (ones used for pinning insects to mounting boards in museum collections)-stiff steel, nice points, come in various lengths and thicknesses, so useful for pikes, lances, flagpoles etc. I got mine off Ebay UK from supplier in Sleaford, Lincolnshire

Piano wire in 0.5-0.6mm thickness is another good material for pikes/spears/lances

I just received a shipment of the North Star style spears and lances. Similar items are also made by Venexia. I just got theirs and need to add them to the site this weekend. I can probably ship 4 or 5 packs for $1.95 USD in the US.
