Two gamers in our local group had painted up their Dystopian Wars fleets and decided to try out the rules. So I made sure to check it out, take lots of pictures and learn a little about the game which I had heard quite a lot about and which seem to be very popular and growing in Sweden. If I recall correctly the fleets were 1000 points each, Kingdom of Britannia vs Prussia and their Rising Sun ally. It looked like a really fun game and the rules seemed easy enough to grasp after a while. Micke and Peter were also set on just playing the naval warfare part of the game, which I too think is the most appealing. link

Thanks for sharing the pics Anatoli. Great job. The table top terrain, game mat and ships are outstanding. Good Gaming; Joe |

The seascape game mat is quite beautiful. Is it commercially available, or homemade? |

It's the game mat from GWs uncharted seas game |

Looks interesting. May have to look at the game more closely. Thanks for actually posting pictures and not just providing a link to a blog. |

The terrain and "sea" mat comes from the GW game "Dreadfleet". I might be interested in picking this game up myself later this year, but at the moment my FoW and By Fire & Sword projects have priority :-) Nevertheless, always fun to check out new games and learn how they play. |

"The
game mat
[is] outstanding." Wow. Eye of the beholder. The minis are awesome, but I think that mat caused me to reflux a little. |

Al, I really hope you like Game of Thrones more than me and my group did. I wonder if they changed things in the 2nd edition for the better as some of the zones on the map had badly balanced borders. Unless you meant Battles of Westeros – which is an awesome and great game. Not tried the land part of Dystopian Wars, just watched as they played the naval part this weekend. While the models are superbly cast, I find the look of the land based units pretty off putting haha. Should I ever start with this game myself it will be sea/air stuff only :-D |

Alex Was an excelent game, not played th e1st edition but we had no problems with borders, we did find the sea areas were important the one just below th eStark area I took this of stark so basicly could attack most of his region so they ended up on defense we had 6 players in th egame and a lot of underhand back stabing and pacts between players, was very fun Also I won – Yay I was yellow (house Barethon I think) took eth eEast side of the map I can see th eback stabbig and pacts as very important and add a lot of fun to the game Al |

Baratheon was a good house in 1st edition as well. The one's having the most trouble were often the Lannisters. Glad you liked the game though, it had too many loose ends for my taste as I want a more structured and "wrtiten on paper" alliance buildings :-D |

The GW cloth looks great for the game, nice fleets as well. |
