Howdie. Looking for some advice, what are my options for a 20mm LVTP-7? I know of several diecast AAVs, ones with the later up-gunned 40mm turrets and a number of external additions, I am looking for the 70's-80's version with the .50 turret and no external add-ons, appropriate for use with Argentine forces during the Falklands War. I have heard that Altaya had a diecast that would work? I thought S&S Models was working on one, but have not seen that it is available yet. Any help would be appreciated, thanks. Chalfant |

Black Star Models made one for the SOTCW via Red Star Models. IIRC Rolf Hedges at Liberation has got the moulds so it might be worth contacting him. Hope this helps. Phil |

I built one of the Dragon kits – it turned out pretty good. A little fiddly for a non-model builder like me, but not too bad. Shawn. |

Shawn – I try to avoid model kits unless I have no other choice, but you are correct :) Shaun – thanks for the update. Looks like the Altaya one
its interesting that De Agostini sells the back issues, but only to the UK and ROI, but there are some options for getting them, including Liberation, who appear to sell some of the models. Thanks for the help! Chalfant |

The Dragon kit #7221 has both, the 50Cal and the UGWS turrets, you just pick which one you want your model to have. The kit is fairly easy to build, that is a relative term BTW. Relative to say one of the early ACE or PST 1/72 scale track laying vehicle kits. In particular the ACE BMP-2 and the PST BTR-50PK, just because I have had the misfortune of building each of these . |
