How does one balance the game? Are there preset armies? I did n't think there was a points system.

While Hail Caesar is geared primarily for scenario-based play, the rules also include an optional points system. It is described in Appendix 3 of the HC rulebook, and also in the Appendix for the Biblical & Classical army list book. The stat line for each unit type in each army list includes a unit point value.

"We at Warlord Games abhor Points systems, Army lists and 'so-called' Tournaments. What's that? Oh, Go on then, here are some pointed army lists. What's that? Oh go on, we will organise a Tournament."

Coming soon –200 pages of Errata to fix all the holes caused by Bleeped texting tournament players driving their little red tricycles through the rules.

"Page 9 line 6 – players are not allowed to stab each other in the face'

Typical case of overreaction. Just let them play, will you?

Perhaps a switch to decaf coffee is in order for some here. Let them play without the hyperbole.
