Whould anyone know what is the best shade of GW wash for Union. I tried the blue wash on one test model and it made the trousers too dark. Any help or advice would be appreciated. Thanks

If you check out my blog you will see what results I have had. I use Delta Ceramcoat paint color: Midnight Blue watered down with some water. Works great.

"Who ever saw a dead cavalryman?"

"Sitting Bull and several thousand others.."

Actually it was a Union infantry taunt directed to their own cav in the first few years of the War. They accused the Union Cav of not doing very much in the War effort to get themselves killed.

Many people don't realize it either so don't feel bad. :)

As a former ACW Union Cav reenactor (10 years) after riding all day, as most of the originals did, I am sure they could care less is an infantryman saw them dead or otherwise.

Try Secret Weapon Washes (US). They have several different blue washes, and IMO they are THE best out there.
