Hi all

Just finished this figure for Gringo40's.
It will be one ogf the kick off figures of their up coming range of the mexican revolution. So it's time to review "Agachate madlito" ;)
I hope I have been able to grasp the look and mood of the famous Doroteo Arango.
Hope you like it.

…some fooling around with PS :)

Very, very nice. That's one of those periods that knocks around in my head from time to time, but I've never pulled the trigger, so to speak. Now it's tempting again!

Volleyfire30 Jan 2012 8:03 a.m. PST

La figura encantadora,pintura muy buena!

WarWizard30 Jan 2012 8:19 a.m. PST

Excellet. Is this being done in 40MM or 28MM?

morrigan30 Jan 2012 9:14 a.m. PST

Title says 28mm.

morrigan30 Jan 2012 10:12 a.m. PST

I have to say I'm not fond of that figure. The head and hands look a bit out of proportion to the body. Thought the
Egyptian battalion figures were better.

I agree. Everything about the figure looks off.

WarWizard30 Jan 2012 1:29 p.m. PST

"Title says 28mm."
Somehow I missed that, thanks.

RobH30 Jan 2012 2:16 p.m. PST

That is a very poor sculpt. Looks like a walk on extra from Captain Scarlet or Thunderbirds.

The previous releases have been really good, this one not so.

GOTHIC LINE MINIATURES30 Jan 2012 4:28 p.m. PST

In terms of sculpture the face looks great, there is some likeness, proportions may slightly deceived by the "urban sombrero"!!!
The picture should be taken right in front of the figure rather than from above, as this can also make the heads and torso look bigger.

malamute31 Jan 2012 5:37 a.m. PST

Cracking figure. he looks all in proportion to me. An excellent start to what promises to be the definitive range. Loving it!

CooperSteveOnTheLaptop31 Jan 2012 10:10 a.m. PST

proportions are fine, the big hat plays tricks on the eye

ONIRIA131 Jan 2012 10:31 a.m. PST

Cheers guys.
Thanks for your intrest and comments.
Cooper…I couldn't have said it better. Thanks.

Looks good to me….very nice figure and good paint job!

kingscarbine01 Feb 2012 2:01 p.m. PST

Great figure. Don't trust photos as they often trick the eyes. Can't wait to see the rest.

You're tempting me to start sculpting figures for some South American wars. ;D

Hello, Ged.
How long until the Villistas are out?
Will Mexican soldiers be far behind?
They have been a long time coming, it was over a year ago this range was first announced.

Olive Rudge01 Nov 2012 11:31 a.m. PST

You are a very naughty boy, dearest Che.
Arthur at last has everything in working order.
His BSA is a picture to behold.
I am looking forward to my promised
Christmas hamper full of delights.

What dashing delights do you have in store for me?
You are awrfull but l like you.

Redoran01 Nov 2012 1:20 p.m. PST

What is a BSA?

I *was* looking forward to this range.
I was absolutely delighted when I heard the initial plans for the range, especially for the US intervention.
When Ged announced he was going to be starting two ranges for the Maximillian Adventure and the Mexican Revolution I thought he was spreading himself thin.

Since then we've also seen the Franco-Prussian War, the Alamo and a bloody sci-fi range thrown into the mix as well.
Each of which has seen one release, while the Revolution has only seen two. What's the Spanish for 'messing around'?

I was excited, I was enthusiastic, now I'm just Bleeped texted off!
