Can these rules be used for World War 1 gaming? I don't own the rules, but glancing through them I noticed stats for bolt actions rifles. Thanks, Evan |

I think you could for the very early actions, when everything was more mobile and not in trenches. |

I suppose so, especially for early war – as skinkmaster mentions. Black Powder even has rules for machine guns; albeit the earliest types. Nothing about tanks though, artillery barrages and aeroplanes! Personally, I use The Great War for anything from Russo-Japanese War onward (until WW2 of course). Best, Dean |

Personally I think it is too easy to charge home with Black Powder so in my opinion no |

Personally I think it is too easy to charge home with Black Powder You can always add a special rule to overcome that difficulty. |

You could have the opponent roll a "barrage command" roll and subtract it from the active players command roll. Any negative result would cancel gross movements. |

craycaptain560: Hmmm good to know! Thanks guys I have an extra copy of "Black Powder" if you are interested in the rules system. I ordered my copy last month from the UK and when it arrived it was a brand new copy
but
the cover had been attached upside-down to the block of 184 pages. I can let you have it very reasonably (cost of postage). I was going to keep it and make the most of it myself. But I thought the publisher should know about it in case 100s had been bound that way. It was very kind of him to immediately send me a replacement copy. This is a perfectly useable (and mint) copy for gaming and reference you simply have to turn it upside-down when you want to read through it.
