Wonderful! Thanks for posting
those pics put a big stoopid grin on my face. I'm sure I've met 1D6 of them. They were guarding a chest. Top-notch old-school eye candy! |

Nice work on those goblins Spooktalker, I hadn't realised how good those old Grenadier goblins were. I still have quite a number of their old skeletons which were also very good, some of their other ranges were not so well executed however particularly the earlier ones. |

Terrific stuff. It's not easy to make old school figures pop, but you succeeded in spades. Well done! |

You made those look really great. Dark and bright all at the same time. Very good job! |

I love seeing old-school minis with a modern, excellent paint-job. |

BTW, there does not seem to be a way to post flickr images here in a way that abides by the flickr terms of service. Don't worry, though. They don't seem to care much. |

Absolutely fantastic. Now THAT's how you paint "old school". Only problem is, now I have an urge to repaint my goblins

Wow, thanks for the comments! Hopefully I'll tempt you down the dark old school path. ;) @handgrenadealien Cheers! Yeah, the skeletons are great and I have some done I just need to take pics of. Chernak could really sculpt skeletons and I believe there are over 60 individual sculpts (which I say because they all say s4, s5, etc on the base and I believe I have one that is s60 or 70-something. Amongst my crew (these ones not painted yet, though) are the looting skeleton w pig under arm and the pizza delivery boy skeleton. I also agree the very early grenadier were a bit crude but that same guy (Chernak) had some credible skills within a few years, and overall he's my favorite. I like even the oldest wizzards & warriors stuff, though. The only real put offs for me are the very early humans and elves with gorilla arms down to their ankles. Even I have my limits for what I can accept as "part of their charm." ;) |
