I finished off a box of Perry Zoos a few months back and am very happy with their quality, detail, and realism. However, the infantry seems very stiff and lacking detail. What is the story behind the contrast of these two kits? I assume the infantry kit has been around longer. |

I think the infantry was the first plastic kit they produced. |

I believe the ACW infantry kit was the first historical 28mm hard plastic wargaming figure kit done by any company, and has been around much longer than the zouaves. The zouaves are really quite amazing. |

Yeah, there has been a lot of development between the infantry and the Zouaves. I'd guess that the infantry was really just a toe dipped in the water as far as things go. They are still really nice figs. |

The Perry twins will get around to re-vamping the ACW plastics – eventually. |

I hope so. While the majority (by far) of my armies will be a mix of Dixon, Foundry, Redoubt, and S&S, the Perry plastics are a nice, economical way to fill out the ranks. |
