What does the 15mm community think about the HO scale Heavy Gear infantry? I would like to hear someone else's thoughts about the figures being used for 15mm gaming. Thank you. |

Not seen them in the flesh so difficult to say with any accuracy. 1/87 is around 18.5mm tall but with usual tolerance anything from 18-19.5mm. Which means you might be able to use them with the likes of CMG Arc Fleet Drop Troopers, Mad Robot troopers, and Blue Moon who all come in around 18mm. Plus there's plenty of aliens available where size isnt so obviously relative. Cheers Mark |

I have some of the old HO scale bikes. They are clearly 20mm scale and way too big for 15mm. However, they are ideal for Warlands. Now the 10mm Grels from the current HG Blitz might be closer to 15mm (as they are larger than normal humans) although maybe a wee bit skinny. |

I've got a bunch of the original mechs and, luckily, those seem to fit in just fine with 15mm soldiers. |

those seem to fit in just fine with 15mm soldiers With no cockpit glass, it is easy to assume the torso has the room, since that's where they sit anyway. The small end is the one that always gets people. We're so used to chunky miniatures that really cramped quarters are hard to make look right. |

I agree with CmdrKiley, too big for 15mm. |

While they look really tall next to Rebel's figures, they are only slightly taller than Khurasan figures I have and as noted above, my Mad Robot Jumpers are even closer to the size. I'm going to use everyone of the old RAFM infantry I have. |

I use them with my Micro machines Star Wars figs. They are too large for 15mm. Thanks, John |

Well if anyone doesn't want their old Heavy Gear RAFM figures because of size, I'd trade 3"-ish tall Mecha for them. |

I would love to get some RAFM Heavy Gear Infantry, if someone has them and doesn't want them anymore. |

I have both North and South HO scale HG infantry I'd be willing to sell/trade. |

I have 40 Southern Heavy Infantry and 20 Southern Sniper Infantry still in the original packages and willing to trade/sell them. I have almost as many out of the packaging but I think I will use them for wargaming. I have read the posts and that most feel they are too big but maybe over time scale-creep will allow me to use them :) |

Stuuuh and mechaphile; Let me know what you want for them, I will buy them off of you if the price is right. |

Southtxgamer, if you are til interested I'll dig out what I have and drop you a line tomorrow. In the meanwhile, I took a comparison shot of the old HG figs against some of the newer GZG figs. There is not a lot of difference in size, the newer GZG stuff really has got quite big. Link:
