You've put into easy-to-understand steps something I've been putzing around with trying to get right for weeks now. I'm excited to hear what other tips you have as far as pigmentation and detailing go. |

Interesting technique. I used to get a similar effect by priming black and then drybrushing white over the whole figure. The problem with priming black is that it tends to kill colours. The ADVANTAGE of priming black is that it does a wonderful job of filling shadows and any part that gets missed does not stand out in the way that a figure primed white does. I now use a different technique. I prime white then wash over with a diluted dark brown ink, then undercoat and bare metal with black. Link here: link |
