Sometimes it pays to complain. I ordered a small item from a manufacturer. It cost $6.00 USD. I was rather stunned that I was being charged $12.00 USD shipping and handling (domestic mail, not overseas). Now being in business myself I realize that processing a small order is just as much work as processing a big one, but this still seeemed excessive. So I complained about it and they refunded $7.00 USD of the shipping and handling. Good for them!
