I know the owner has passed away and I was wondering if the molds and the rights of production for their 28mm Balkan Wars is available for sale because I am very interested in producing the range. If anyone can help me with contacting someone please let me know.

I'm going to presume you know this already, but just in case you don't- Alphacast was sold by Virtual Armchair General at one point. You might try contacting him.

Dear Royal Lion,

Spyros Koumousis died suddenly, and without a plan for the survival of his business.

His remaining family (sister and mother) are still holding on to his lines, but not producing them, to my knowledge, at this time.

Some of his lines have been bid on, but the family has held out for very much higher prices than anyone has been willing to offer (at least, as of almost a year ago when I last communicated on these matters).

I still hope to be able to help bring at least some of Spyros' products back, in some form, but it may take the family a little longer to come to terms. His loss was absolutely devastating, and they have yet to recover, even after these years.

It was bad for the industry and I cant imagine their pain that is why I held off for so long before trying to acquire the line. I am only interested in the Balkans War line. I feel as someone who has enjoyed the period could be passionate for the manufacturing of the miniatures.

Which Balkan War line, Lion? He had one in 15mm and another in 28mm.

I have a unit of Alpha Cast Balkan War Greeks in 28mm which I converted for use in the 1897 war. Nice figures. I'd also hoped to do 15mm Balkan War armies using the old Over the Top rules. I got two packages bought before Spiros' death.
Best of luck to anybody who tries to bring the Alpha Cast line back!
