I agree with the original er, even though it is that Caesar. Whenever I see I think of the vilest term possible – and I know some pretty vile ones. It's a bit like the way well-meaning types replace old words with new ones because they get used as insults. My kids school used to stream kids by ability. Then they stopped, and instead created 'houses' called (and I kid you not) Gandhi, Mandela and Theresa. Now if a kid does something stupid they all go 'Don't mind him – he's a bit of a Theresa' Pat |
