does anyone know of a website with picts or color drawings of the paint schemes used on Japanese naval aircraft used at Midway and Coral Sea?

wp.scn.ru

Probably the best single site on the net.

While it doesn't have the color images per se that you requested, this site has proven very useful in paint selection for me.

Sundance's suggestion of wings palette is an excellent one for discerning schemes for specific aircraft/units. Beyond that, Google images is your friend. :) Many scale modelers have already done the work for us.

ok how do you navigate the wings platelet sight

It is tricky. Select type from the top, e.g. fighter under WW2. A selection of fighter types will appear somewhere at left. Select one, eg Mitsubishi A6M2. Then somewhere around the center will appear a list of countries that used that type. Select Japan. Then select the page. Once you get it, there really is a treasure trove there.

thank you they hid the countries that used it very well. right in plain sight.
