For those of you that have played Mustangs and Messerschmitts, how much space do you really need ? Thinking a small game, two planes each (does that work ?) Bought these rules as a kid, certainly never had the space, resources or attention span to put a game on but now, I might just be able to pull it off. Just curious how much space one really needs. |

I would say that you need at least 10'x10' of clear space and a lot depends on what types of planes you are flying. The biplanes have a considerably smaller turning radius than the others so you can get away with a smaller space. With most planes having a C or D turning radius you can just get by with 10x10 but its going to be tight space wise. You really need room to perform some of those maneuvers even more so when you are flying some of the twin engine planes that just turn like dogs. |

IIRC the smallest area we ever used was a two-car garage (with the usual junk along the sides). We probably didn't need all of it, but then again, sometimes we did. |

Thanks for the advice people – I was looking at my garage as well
To answer VSB's question – the rules are based around using 1/72 scale airplanes mounted on stands that have casters (1 1/4" maybe ?) that are used to regulate movement – so you need a lot of space ! |

When my club was playing MANY M&M games we were lucky enough to have rented a game space that included an indoor basket ball court. We had plenty of space. You don't need that much but at least 10 by 10 area. A double sided garage should be fine. |

We used 20x20, but we were using bomber formations and all sorts of slow turning planes. You might want to try the "Floating map" idea, when everyone gets close to the edge just shift everyone a few feet back to the center. |

Using early war stuff 10*10 might do it. But later war 10*15-20 would be better. |

I don't recall the size of the room, but we used the floor of an empty bedroom at a friend's house. |
