Anyone have thoughts on these? Flames of War made a Churchill Tank Squadron for LW, but their (lovely) tanks are 3/$40. The OG ones are 3/$24 but with discount are 3/$15 or so. Am therefore tempted
very tempted
But while I am a big Old Glory fan, some of their vehicles and molds are inaccurate or beat up so bad that there's a longthy cleanup period to deal with. And hey, what about those Battle Honors tanks? They are $10 USD discounted to $7 USD, and the pics look fabulous! Thoughts appreciated! |

This is the picture from the Skytrex website, same model but different moulds;
Opinion is generally that Skytrex moulds are in better shape than Old Glory's, I do not have models from both to compare though. Of more concern to me though is the lack of earlier marks from Old Glory (Skytrex do offer them though, I have these and they are good but I don't like the fact they all have a tarp moulded to the turret side, I'd like variety and it would be a pig to cut off). Churchill VII was quite rare as a gun tank, all Crocodiles were mark VII though. I don't know what is allowed in FoW other than the 'platoon' in FE which allows the command tank to be upgraded to VII with the others being III, IV or VI which is about right. |
