A recent photo at the NMUSAF website shows the Belle with the landing gear and engines installed.

According to the article, it is scheduled to go on display in the museum's WWII gallery in 2014.

Wooohoooo!! I miss "The Belle" being in Memphis where I can visit easily, but I'm looking forward to quite a thrill seeing her restored in all her glory when the US Air Force Museum exhibit featuring her opens.

She'll be in a much nicer place where more people can enjoy the visit… not under a half-ass cover on Mud Island covered in pigeon poop.

That is indeed a thing of beauty.

Pilot Robert Morgan's next aircraft was Dauntless Dotty (B-29) (named after his next sweet heart -- that one didn't work out either). link

Dauntless Dotty is sitting somewhere at the bottom of the Pacific Ocean. Both aircraft are/were stunning. Robert Morgan flew two of the most famous aircraft in the war. Wish I lived close to Memphis, but it gives me an excuse to come visit.
