Have any of you tried painting the John Carter minis from Tin Man? Any photos of painted minis?

Sometimes you have to do it yourself (me, I mean).

Wow! Nice job! The ape creature looks particularly fierce!

I'm not good at being able to determine how good a figure will look after it's painted. That's why i asked for painted examples and yours are fantastic!

A question about Tin Man minis: some time ago on TMP Hobby News, to advert that this raider:

picture

(a little on the skinny side for 'NOT-Barsoom', imho grin)
can be ordered alone

a comment showed this image:

clearly inspired from Frazetta's "The Moonmaid and the Centaur":

Does somebody recognize the centaur?
(Btw you can see that on this mini Tin Man follows the Frazettan vision of girls more 'pulpy' from the waist down than above…)

And to wet your mouths, a -reportedly- Tin Man novelty:

Really nice work sculptingfool. The Frazetta influence is obvious. I want one (or more, usually more)!

Chris- I like the blue/violet colors on the man. Is that an irridescent violet on his cape?

Abdul- The centaur is a Centigor from Games Workshop.

And, the girl with two swords is delayed. She was damaged in the mold and we didn't get a good impression so there is a lot of resculpting on it that must be done.

Chris

Very nice! I like your style a lot!

Wow! That's the coolest interpetation of a Barsoomian plantman I've ever seen.

Redroom24 Jan 2012 4:57 p.m. PST

Very nice stuff all

sculptingfool-
Thanks! No, the cape is just regular purple paint, with a light purple highlight.

Shadow-
Thanks! Glad you like them. grin

So-so pictures and unfinished painting, but here you go:

Lovely miniatures, in my opinion. These weren't painted to be used as John Carter miniatures, however.
