I'm going to buy some 10/12mm Germans and Russians but I hesitate among Minifigs, Pendraken and Pithead. Which is the best in infantry and which the best in tanks? I'd really appreciate you could post comparative pictures of them. TIA |

No comparative pictures at hand, but my personal favorites combination is Pithead tanks and guns and Pendraken infantry. A few pictures of the lads here 10mmpatrioticwar.blogspot.com I find minifigs vehicles fussy to assemble -- too many parts for 1:160 and way to much work for a gaming figure. Pithead strike a good balance there. If you want the proportions you will see on an n scale model railway figure you want minifigs infantry. I find pendraken more dynamic and detailed; pithead infantry works well with them. |

I don't know about Pithead, but I'd say that Minifigs has the best infantry by far, with realistic proportions and poses and good detail. The Pendraken ones are very bulky and come in less different poses, although I did mix and match them on the same bases, at 10mm scale it doesn'T matter anyway ;) For tanks, again I have no experience with Pithead but I say go with Pendraken vehicles, a great selection and very easy to assemble and paint. The Minifig tanks are bigger so don't mix, and they come in multiple parts (body, tracks, turrets typically), which can lead to visible seams after glueing. Again details might be a little bit bigger but I prefer Pendraken tanks anyway. Edit: There should be a huge selection of photos on the Blitzkrieg Commander Website and it's forums. |

Mix of Pithead, Pendaraken and Minifigs British Paras
Minifigs infantry are the skinniest, PD and Pithead pretty similar in bulk. All three are about the same height. While some like Minifigs slimness, I find the lack of kit on most MF figures realy off putting Vehicles, Pithead are the nicest, best combination of detail without too many pieces. Pendraken are cheaper, but less detailed. Minifigs have too many parts and rarely have detail to match. Pendraken are generally smaller.

fred12df's post also reminds me – pithead always have crew figures for open top vehicles. Pendraken do not – I do not know about minifigs. |

How do Minifigs vehicles compare with Takara and Dragon Can.Do 1/144 stuff? Are they believable side by side? WarGames South has gone 1/144 with their newer models right? Somebody let me know. |

Minifigs vehicles still come off as just a bit smaller than the prepainted 1/144 stuff. Small enough that I try to avoid mixing them. It's a taste thing, though. |

I have some of Wargames South new models and they definitely match well with my plastic 1/144th scale stuff. |

Again thanks to all for the help. Fred12df, your pics are very helpful! I ordered some blisters of Minifigs Russian and German infantry to see them in the flesh. Regarding the tanks, Pendraken are the cheapest but the difference in quality with Pithead is huge. Are Minifigs miniatures and Pendraken tanks compatible? |
