Below are a couple Battlesystem battle reports that I have posted previously on the Battlesystem Yahoo group and LAF. They may be new to some TMPers however.

I love Undead!
Did you remember about the Edged Weapons advantage for Skeletons? All pointy/sharp weapons should have been reduced in damage against them, which is why they are so expensive in points. I was surprised by the Paladins being brought down by the Ghouls. What level/HD were the Paladins? I played the Undead side at a convention, many years ago, and I did charge with my Skeleton Cavalry, against an elite unit of Paladins on their called, War Horses
It was around 24 Skeletons, verses eight Paladins, who counter-charged. When the bone dust settled, I had around 10 Skeletons left! I kept the poor Paladins locked in combat for several more turns, while they doggedly chewed my units to powder. It was great fun! Thanks for sharing your battle reports -- both were fun to read, and a feast for the eyes. Great figures, nice table and terrain. Cheers! |

Thanks for the comments. Will post more when available. Posting some Battlesystem Skirmish reports soon. @ Sgt Slag, we did take into account the edged weapon penalty vs skeletons. Most of the human army had edged weapons so it definately made a difference. When the flail wielding berserker unit got into contact with the skeletons it was not pretty. We ran the convention game you mentioned at Con of the North those many yeas ago, and those are the same Paladins and Skeletal horsemen pictured above. Good to hear you have fun memories of that game. The Paladins in this particular game were ultra heavy cav, so they had 5 hits. Unfortunately for them, they weren't able to charge and get the attack bonus, the ghouls rolled well, the Paladins rolled badly, several Paladins were paralyzed by ghouls attacks. To top it off, the Witch King aided the ghouls by casting Prayer, improving the Ghouls AD and AR. |

Wow! Talk about a blast from the past! I never remember the TMP handles of those who ran that game at CotN, so many years ago. Sorry about that. It's been a long time since I ran a BS game, myself. I have some in mind, with Undead attacking a Paladin Kingdom's forces (most of their troops will be normal Fighters, not Paladins, but some elite units will be similar to what you had). I hope to get back into BS games this year. Thanks for sharing! Cheers! |
