Following feedback from players, we've decided to pilot a slightly different approach to the standard system which uses individual play cards for different vehicles and infantry units. Called Big Detachment Cards, the idea is that rather than small cards for each Tactical Unit type which on big games can lead to as many as six or seven small double sided cards for a force, the idea was to put all of this unit information on one large sheet. Here are some examples as pictures:
But the proper printable pdf files can be downloaded from this page: link Needless to say, they are free. In addition to acting as a replacement for the TU cards, the sheets incorporate the Leadership Cards (still seperately available as a free download) so that's another separate thing you don't need on the table, and they themselves also show Elite leaders and their skills, where they are available. Lastly – and as can be seen from the illustrations above – the Big Detachment Cards cull rule book information from two separate areas and present them all together in one place: Detachment Arrangement how your forces are organised, plus Points Costs. These last two areas also contain the very latest information and updates and it should help players minimise the digging around in their rule books. So far we've done these sheets for a large portion of the most popular 15mm scale forces about half of them but, depending on feedback we can do the rest and also try to expand the idea into different scales. Please tell me what you think: hopefully they will be useful! One final note is that as you might expect, try and get them on one sheet as I did, the Slammers themselves are spread over two sheets (as the heroes' of the books, there are just a lot of options!) and the Zaporoskie had to have two sheets as well! 6 & 28/25mm please John! Thank you Agent Smith |

Thankyou Agent Smith. I shall probably try and finish the 15mm first but may start the 6mm and 28mm soon. As you can appreciate there's a fair degree of quite manual work involved so – if there's a "pecking order" for forces in the other scales (other than the Slammers themselves as first and foremost!) – or indeed if there are any favourites amongst the 15mm I've missed – please feel free to chip ideas in. Agent Smith (and others) I have now put just three sheets – both Slammers and the FDF – in both 28mm and 6mm up on the site, so that players in scales other than 15mm can give it a go and give me some feedback. John T |

Thanks Matt – I'll have the rest of them up in both other scales, plus a few more forces by the end of today. At least that's my plan! John T PS – Yep – see you at Salute. SIG! |

All scales (ie sizes) up on on the site now: 6mm, 15mm and 28mm, plus 4 more forces (including stuff from the web and supplement 2). Also, I put them in Alphabetical order I'll do the rest as soon as I can. Meanwhile, back to Captain Scarlet

No problems and thanks Caesar. I will try and do the rest over the next few weeks. One of the reasons that I wanted to do them in all scales as – apart from the obvious point atht people are using the game in all three scales – I know of some who play big games in 15mm (Commstar Matt's group for one) and sometimes use the 28mm stats for more actual movement on the table. That I do indeed John :) 12' x 6' table with 15mm Vehicles and Infantry gives you a really good flowing game but use the normal 15mm stats when at home on a 6' x 4' and all is good :) link spacecommand.co.uk/index.htm Cheers Matt |

Thanks Chris and Matt. If you have any requests for which ones I do next on the list please say (either here or via email [from the Slammers website]). And Paying the Piper is a great story I think Chris! John T |
