Hi Folks,
I have a good set of Dwarven Forge roleplaying scenery. But What I am lacking are the sundries to populate my dungeons.

Before anyone says, DF make sundries, yes, they do, but they are rather pricy and I want some cheaper alternatives.

What I am looking for are;
1. Treasure Chests of various sizes, from small to very large.
2. Treasure / loot piles of various sizes.
3. Tombs, books and book shelves.
4. Beds/palletes.
5. Refuse piles/skeletal remains.
6. Torch stands
7. Fire pits
8. Large oil lamps, and braziers.
9. Vases, urns, cups, parafenalia.
10. Armour sections of various design.

Yes I know many people make their own, but I only have limited free time and currently that is being eaten alive by zombies.. literally. ;)

Any guides to makers and retailers greatly appreciated. Crates and Barrles seem available all over the shop. Its these other pieces I could do with finding. Pre painted would be brilliant, but unpainted others. :)

Cheers.

6mm?

Mako1111 Jan 2012 4:30 p.m. PST

I found some nice treasure chests, and coin piles, for 25mm/28mm on eBay, for a reasonable price. They came prepainted too, and are quite nice.

Can't recall the manufacturer. Sorry.

A quick look and search there should turn up something.

You could buy Hirst Arts castings from a company that casts them to order, Naloomi's Workshop for example.

Use Reaper Minis Figure Finder. Lots of treasure piles, weapons, magic items, statues, etc.

This guy has some interesting items:

Mega Minis also has some furnishing options that are cheap.

Do you scratchbuild? If so, for treasure piles anyway, check out:

reapermini.com/TheCraft/33

Really easy to make and you can customize them for your purposes. I've made a handful and really like the look because I can tweak them for whatever "treasure" I want (i.e. magic items, weapons, etc.) in the piece and/or for specific areas/scenarios.

For furniture, I use popsicle sticks or thinner grade wood and just build basic chairs, tables, doors (rectangular, round etc.).

Hope this helps.

Warrior miniatures do a couple of treasure chests in their pirate range.

Goose66612 Jan 2012 4:17 a.m. PST

Sorry, Dwarven forge is 28mm scale. So its 28mm stuff I am after.

There is a company that makes some really cool stuff I looked at last year, but I can't for the life of me remember who it is. They had different scenery like a Warlock's Study set, tables and chairs, graveyard sets, armory racks…all kinds of stuff. Seems like they were based overseas because the prices were all in pounds. I wish I could remember who they were…

There was a guy on another board that had made his own foam dungeon, a really nice looking one…and he had filled it with furniture and accessories from that site. Anybody help?

Ranger32212 Jan 2012 3:09 p.m. PST

With the help of others on the board, the company I'm trying to tell you about is Scotia Grendel. They also mentioned another one with similar products called Thomarillion…both have lots to choose from…

It's precast stuff, but you do have to paint it.

Make sure to tell us what you go with :)

Well I will be definitely looking at the frontline miniature pieces. Though unpainted sadly, there tudor bar set, looks perfect for generic fantasy. And they have a few other bits and pieces too.

There was one site I found a few years ago, when I started looking but for the life of my I cannot recall what the name was. They were I believe based over in korea or thailand. But it was a long time ago.

I will check out the soctia grendel stuff, as I have a contact who can get it, at the club.

Goose66618 Jan 2012 4:43 a.m. PST

The frontline sets look great and I think from looking further will solve my bar setup perfectly.

I still need other items, such as various treasure chests in differeing designs and sizes.

I don't like the look of the hirst arts one, that much, but I know they are available all over the shop, being casts by loads of people.

Any other producers out there for these? Who do a range, preferably in resin, not casting stone or plaster of paris type material?

Dark Art01 Oct 2012 11:24 a.m. PST
