What the hell happened? I bought some last year to start making a star wars fleet, now the prices have gone completely crazy! I got 'Home One' for about $10 USD, now I can't find on for under 20! The SDs have managed get even more ridiculously expensive, think $20 USD-30. This is ridiculous

Same thing that's happened to the price of bacon, meat, and seafood. I could explain the reason, but would be in violation of TMP rules. You can research Fed policy for the answer, on your own. |

I can find them, thats not the issue, the issue is the price. |

It's got nothing to do with the government and everything to do with entrepreneurial collectors. You mean those guys who have a friend at TRU or elsewhere, and buy THE WHOLE CASE of toys the morning it arrives before it even hits the shelves? Then they wait two weeks and slam them on eBay for four times retail? Those guys? Yeah, I love those guys. A real treasure for those of us who actually want to game with our toys, not dream of retiring on them some day. |

I still have a Home One and an Imperial Star Destroyer if you're interested. Contact me at jayadan(at)gmail(dot)com. I could see doing $10 USD for the first and $15 USD for the second. Home One doesn't have a card if that matters to you. I was just going to put them up on eBay. This saves me the hassle. |

Sorry, your assumptions are incorrect, since there are loads of other SW Action Figs, and Toys in the retail shops selling for 1.5 – 2.0x the price of them, from just a few years ago. They are definitely far exceeding the annual rate of inflation, which we're being told is nil. |

Thanks Greenfield Games but i'm actually ok for those two, I was just using them as examples. Nice thought though! Also, buying from the US costs me an arm and a leg in postal costs :( |

I had the same thought recently. I managed to get some Venator class and Trade federation battleships for about $10 USD each myself about a year back but I always wanted a few Banking clan frigates and its a bit crazy what they are going for these days. |

The fact that they are out of print and people don't want to get rid of them probably has something to do with it. |

Just a cpl of thoughts here. IIRC not long after SW SB came out, Miniature Market had the "Rebel Cruiser" as marketed by WOTC, aka the (Nebulon B frigate) was selling for $4 USD each. With in a yr the price soared, eventually ending at just over $11 USD each. NOW, a few yrs later, Armada is released, so out of curiosity I checked "The M M" this week. The "Rebel Cruiser" (Neb. frigate) $4.75 USD. The Mon Cals, < $10 USD, Home One < $13. USD The Executor > $17 USD The Imp. SD still < $20 USD, The Interdictor < $20 USD It was disappointing they never did the Victory SD for the game. Ironcially, its the "Clone War" period ships that seem to be commanding the higher prices. Commerce Guild DD's < $7 USD The Invisible hand > $12 USD The Venator class SD < $27 USD The Banking Clan Frigate almost $30 USD! |

Also, at the beginning of 2012, I think FFG X-Wing hype would have effected and affected hopes for using as proxies. Doug |

At my game club they are using them for Armada because the ship price for Armada are way too high. |

*green beanie, I have to agree with you and the idea of using SW SB mini's in there place. After all, neither Armada or SW SB ships are in 'actual scale' to one another. The ships for "Armada, some of THE best Ive ever seen. But I just 'cant' bring myself to pay $50 USD! for one 'toy/miniature'. If anyone else interested in doing this? Check "the Miniatue Market" or "Warstore". NOTE, they are not listed on their product list, I had to use their SEARCH: "Starwars Starship Battles" I got curious if any were still available since release of Armada. |

Yep, you can buy a very nice fleet for the price of a single vessel. |

I just ditched my Starter Set plus some extras, but no Star Destroyers, though it did include a Banking Clan Frigate and a couple of Rebel Cruisers, and it went for over GB£50. |

Mako11 Yep, you can buy a very nice fleet for the price of a single vessel. Thats just about the size of it. Did a comparison:Based on One FFG Imp. SD for Armada $50. USDThe MM: 1 Imp. SD – $20 USD, 1 Rebel Mon Cal CA $10 USD2 Neb FF $9.50 USD (4.75@) 1 Reb Assualt FF $8.50 USD all for less than $50. USDAnd personal note, IMHO, the Reb Assualt FF from WOC, was far more "SW" style than the "Egg of Doom" by FFG's. |
