Can anyone point me to sites or have the information on the Swedes in the 7 Years War? Specifically, organization/OOBs and uniforms Thanks |

lemansir, please let me know if you need help. I wrote some of the stuff on the Swedes on Kronoskaf. If you want one battle I would recommend the Action at Güstow: link I was in Güstow two years ago. The walls and church from Hovels are perfect for setting up the cementary :) |

What 15mm figures would one use for Swedes? Prussians? Essex makes Prussians, Russians, Brits, Austrians, and French. Of all those I would guess that the Prussians would be the closest, or are there manufacturers making Swedish specific figures for the Seven Years War? Cool website, that (Kronoskaf Project SYW)! |

Buckeye, I am not into 15mm but if you cannot find specific SYW Swedes, then you should go for GNW Swedes. In 15mm it would be impossible to tel the difference since the uniforms were very similar. Prussians should be avoided since they have usually have lapels. |

Buckeye, Agree with Travellera. If I were doing 7YW Swedes, I'd probably buy Dixon GNW Swedes in 15mm as they are cool, failing that, Minifigs. But since you're located in the States, Blue Moon Manufacturing makes suitable figures [though I'm not a fan of the march/attack pose for the GNW, it would be appropriate for the SYW]. Dragoons were similar to the GNW, artillery could come from other lines like Brits, hussars – Prussians or any other 7YW hussars in busby. |

WoW. Thanks everyone. Your responses are generous and greatly appreciated. I like the comments on the 15mm troops. I generally play 15mm, and have War of Spanish Succession armies in 15mm. I wasn't sure about the GNW figures but you certainly helped with that as well. I will have to "scare up" some Prussians to do the action at Gustow. Or, I might have to eventually build some – darn!!! |

Lemansir, If you live in the States, you might want to see if you can get a hold of the special issue of the 7YW journal that covered the Swedes. It has a wealth of info that would help immensely. I've got a copy running around here and I'll have to look to see what it says about the hussars, as I'm fairly certain there was also a regiment in mirliton as well. |

We fought a SYW game last night using several hundred 28mm Swedes painted by Juergen Olk, hussars and all. As to uniforms, get the Pengel book. |

I'd recommend the FreiKorps Swedes too and the days of brittle metal are so long gone these days. All my Swedes are FreiKorps apart from the Blue Hussars – I just used some spare Russian Hussars from Essex instead. |

The Pengel and Hurt book on the Swedes is probably their best. Perhaps too much emphasis on their Colours, and a few consistent typos. For years I thought the Swedes spelled "kurrassier" with a "j"! |
