Hi,
Does anyone have any of the new Quality Castings Infantry? I know they have "redone" their Soviets. Does that mean all the Soviet artillerymen, sailors, NKVD are redone?

I have some of the older Quality Castings Italians and I can't paint them. I like everything but the small que ball heads. They were a little smaller figures but those heads...ugh

How do they scale out with Battlefront, Old Glory, and Peter Pig?

Has any one used Legions East or True North figures? How do they scale out with Battlefront, Old Glory, Peter Pig, and Quality Castings?

Thanks in advance for any help

My Soviet companies are made up of Peter Pig, Old Glory, and the new Quality Castings. The Quality Castings match up well with the O.G. and P.P. but the detail isn't quite as nice. I also have sone of the Battlefront but I don't like the way they mix in with the others. For some reason they remind me of fat dwarfs. Don't know about the Legions East or True North but I would like to add Hungarians to my German force so I'm also interested how they and QRF match up with the other three.

I happen to have some of the QC new Soviets on my desk right now. They scale nicely with OG/PP and the detail is decent but not great. The figs I have are a sampler they sent me, so I don't know exactly which packs they are from. I do like the proprtions a lot. Like the previous poster, I'm not a fan of BF infantry because they mostly look like hulking offensive linemen (American football) to me. I've got some of the QC Germans on my painting desk now and they are painting up nicely. Once based and ready, they'll fit in perfectly with my OG Germans.

QRF should be roughly compatible in size and bulk with Peter Pig, although Peter Pig have a deeper defined cut. I have never actually seen any QC or OG figures to compare, but I understand that BF and Essex figures are somewhat bigger, both taller and bulkier.

At a convention last weekend we were told that True North were compatible with our (QRF)older figures, but that our new figures are much better. I haven't seen any to compare - this is just a report from one customer. :-)

Oh, forgot to say, I have both Peter Pig and QRF in my Soviet WW2 forces and I had trouble telling them apart when I wanted to remove the Peter Pig LMGs the other day...

Of OG, BF, PP, and QC, I think they all fit in pretty well with one another. Its more a matter of personal taste IMO. OG and QC will be slimmer than BF and PP. Also, OG and QC sculpt styles are very similar, while the BF and PP styles more cloely resemble each other.

I have figs from them all and I prefer Battlefront, and Peter Pig.

I have no experience with other companies products.

I have some of the True North figures (mostly Dutch but I have a friend who has Poles) and I find that they fit in well with my other figures, probably more to the style of QC and OG than PP and BF. I would rank them amongst the better figures out there.

I like the detail and posing of the Battlefront miniatures. The Old Glory troops are nice too - just wish they had more pose variety.

I don't like the new pricing scheme for the Battlefront infantry troops though - starting to go the way of GW for some smaller units, e.g. machine gun troops, etc. (few figs and expensive price per trooper).

Peter Pig is decent, but avoid the older QC figures. Supposedly, some of their infantry have been redone, but haven't seen those yet.

I heard QC have re-done all the British and Australian infantry recently. I am tempted to buy a bag to see how they match up.
