See some pictures of some recently complete John Carter figures. These will see service in a large Mars GASLIGHT game at Historicon this Summer. See bucksurdu.com/blog for more. Buck |

Very nicely done. I have some JCoM figures to do, it's good to get some ideas on what people are doing for red Martians. I also like those sleds, didn't know Recreational Conflict had them, will have to go take a look. Chris |

Cool! I plan to run a VSF Mars game at Historicon as well. It will be great having this genre well represented. Kim |

Nice blog Buck. I didn't know that you had one or I would have checked it out sooner. I own quite a few of the Bronze Age martian minis myself and I was thinking of running a game locally with them. Too bad that Virginia is so far away. I would have signed up for the John Carter game at Historicon if it were still in Lancaster. If i'm still in NJ come march i'll try to get into one of your games at Cold Wars. I'd like to see how your "To Be Continued
" rules work. |

Hi Buck, The Martian Sled was initially sculpted by me some considerable time ago. It's great to see a painted example. I'll keep an eye on your Blog and even tried to post a comment, but was refused access. Good luck with the project and thank you for the inspiration. Tony dampfpanzerwagon.blogspot.com |

Martian Sled? I thought they were known as "flyers?" |

Probably, like boats and ships, they receive different names according to their size and function? |

Shadow: I hope to see you at Cold Wars. Dampfpanzerwagon: You did a great job on the flyer/sled. They were fun to paint. The casting had a LOT of mold release, but that's not your fault. :) Also, I used to get about 200 spam messages a day on my blog that I had to clean out. I had to close it down so that you have to be logged into Wordpress in order to post. It's really inconvenient I know, but I couldn't keep up with all the spam. Buck |

Nicely done, Buck! Won't be at Historicon, but if you bring them with you to MORSS, I will happily feed them to my Green Martians
or Red Martians

OMG! A banana split navy! If the sculptor wants to call his work a sled
;->= Comes in both 25/28mm and 15/18mm, right? Still kicking myself for not buying at Recruits. Should I EVER see the smaller scale high Martians, I'd want something small for them to swarm. Can't shake the image of a fight beating off the nasty blighters

etotheipi: Nice pictures. I recognize many of the figures. Those round tanky looking things are clever. Buck |

Buck, Thanks. Most of the figs are Tim Barry sculpts with some random bits thrown in. The big thing being Green Martians as a great way to get rid of all those extra arms. Banana split boats and candy containers with a few bits look a little sparser than 'Clix and Mechs sleds with bits, but the do have a nice pulp vibe. I can't personally claim the cleverness for that though. I keep all kinds of bits/weird things to build with. My wife showed me a candy container and asked "What's this?" I said, "Uuuh
M&M's?" She said, "No. It's a flying saucer! Zhooooooom! Zhoooooooooooom!" Your ERB guys are a lot more detail oriented than mine. They look like they are ready to step into a movie. Mine look like they are ready to head to wardrobe. :) I did some Black Pirates of Barsoom with more detail, but they became too un-cannonical. |
