Good day everyone. As a side to my hobby, Ive been thinking about starting a figure line and wanted to simply put the feelers out to see if these would be of interest. This is a personal project and Id simply like to see if i can recover some costs. If not, ive a lovely figure range all for my self! Anyhow, here are some pics of the original greens.

They are 15mm future war Russian sponsored/Militia Army. I intend to include a none helmeted option and a arab headscarf option (Keffiyeh). Possible heavy weapons after that, depending on interest that is.

Id be interested in all feedback on these on of off list. If you want to contact me direct you can try

Finally if I have put this notice in the wrong area, please let me know

thanks

They look pretty cool. I think that just about any solid 15mm line will do ok since it's taken off in the last few years. Your's are good, I'd probably buy some!

Armiesarmy06 Jan 2012 4:37 a.m. PST

thanks for that

Heres a blog with some bigger pics. You can see a little more detail

Assuming your RRP is not too much of course.

The answer is yes I am looking to expand my insurgents / colonial militia and I don't want Middle Eastern types.

Hi Keith, would you please email me at khurasanminiatures at yahoo dot com?

Very Nice! I'd buy a bucket of them.

They would go well with a Yozhik APC.

Goober06 Jan 2012 6:56 a.m. PST

Very nice indeed. Can see them as any number of uses – space terrorists, evil cultists, minions of an evil overlord – HYDRA or so on.

Wartopia06 Jan 2012 7:00 a.m. PST

Very impressive! I love the thicker/chunky look to them. Would definitely be interested in them.

Ambush Alley Games06 Jan 2012 7:41 a.m. PST

Nice figures! I'd certainly buy some!

Shawn.

Looks like Jon like them! he he Not a bad way to go by the way, getting with an established manufacturer that is. I know many of us would love to start our own figure company but the reality is that unless you are willing to invest quite a bit, it really is nothing more than a glorified hobby starting your own company. I think Jon would agree that it takes a while to get to the point where you would be making enough money to make a living at it. Heck, the Perry's still work for Games Workshop by day :-)

So, I would say go for it at this point. If your goal is to recoup costs, I think this is a reasonable goal. If you have enough bucks to put some real money into the business, do this as well. If not, talking to another manufacturer makes a lot of sense as you would recoup your costs (which is really minimal if you don't have to master and cast yourself) and you could share with the rest of the hobby world, which is really what it is all about, right?

Nice sculpts. Really love the weapons. I could see these as being in the Dune Universe too. Make for interesting Harkonnen or Sardokar troops… ;-)

I love them so far! Really love the idea of the non-helmeted guys. My only coment on the pics is the second guy in the second pic looks a little stiff to me. I wouldnt want very many of him.

Yes!! Those look great. I really like the helmets on them.

I hope you manage to get these into production, and that any promised purchases turn into sales. I would certainly try to get some, but it really depends on what cash I have available. There are loads of figures in Khurasan's range that I want, never mind other ranges, but just don't have spare cash right now.

Sloppypainter06 Jan 2012 8:26 a.m. PST

Yep. I'd likely buy some. Good poses and reasonable kit; nice sculpting…all good things.

CPBelt06 Jan 2012 8:33 a.m. PST

They have a nice evil minion look to them. Think about sculpting an evil overlord figure something along the lines of a character from all those great spy films. Maybe an exaggerated Soviet-style commander with too many medals as well? I would buy these in a heart beat if they had that spy-fi look! No one is doing that in 15mm. (See Crooked Dice in 28mm.)

AVAMANGO06 Jan 2012 8:35 a.m. PST

They do have a very evil look to them with that fashioned face mask and head gear.

Great figures mate , very nice work.

If you want a hand getting them into production let me know, I am only in Berkshire.

Winsome!

Somebody needs to pump these out!

Ben.

Nandalf06 Jan 2012 12:41 p.m. PST

I also approve of the time stamps on your pics; 4.40am :D

BlackWidowPilot Fezian06 Jan 2012 12:42 p.m. PST

CPBelt,

I second that! They do indeed have that 007/evil minions look about them. Nice.evil grin

Oooh…get out of here, Stalker!

I'd be up for some.

Armiesarmy06 Jan 2012 2:53 p.m. PST

Thanks all, appreciated. Ill get some more up as and when ready. If youd like to see something specificly then be sure to let me know.

McWong7306 Jan 2012 3:47 p.m. PST

What a great start, I'll definitely be keen to buy some of these.

AVAMANGO07 Jan 2012 3:37 a.m. PST

I think that they could be helmetless Control Battalion troops with leather mask and respirators' to hide their deformed visage; I pretty sure Jon mentioned they wear the visored helmets to cover their faces, please feel free to corrrect me if im wrong. And talking of the Control Battalion is there any news when the new packs will be ready?

WillieB07 Jan 2012 3:56 a.m. PST

Very nice figures! I'll certainly get a few sets once they are made.

Chatticus Finch07 Jan 2012 6:16 a.m. PST

Mate, I would buy a small metric ton of these boys. If you make them an energy-weapon 'esque' weapon or two they could easily swing into further future/ X-com style scenarios as well.

Thaddeus of Brock07 Jan 2012 6:54 a.m. PST

Very nice. Best of luck getting them into production.

Uesugi Kenshin Supporting Member of TMP07 Jan 2012 2:20 p.m. PST

For requests, a 2 person crew served weapon that could double as hmg, agl, or laser weapon would be great! Then maybe some alternate squad leader figures.

Lead Legion07 Jan 2012 4:40 p.m. PST

Yup, I'd buy these as well. Especially if you produce a few with near-future tech weapons as well.

Wolfprophet08 Jan 2012 12:49 a.m. PST

These do look great. I'd add a little to the tip of that RPG so it looks like a warhead instead of what I suspect is a pin of some kind though. :)

Hope they get into production, I'd love to paint some up.

I second this. I always liked the X-com/UFO stuff… Starting off with practically third world gear and working up to using captured alien tech and more advanced stuff your group produces itself.

Armiesarmy11 Jan 2012 4:57 a.m. PST

Good advice thanks wolfprophet and everyone else. Big thanks and its safe to see they will be seeing the light of production in the very near future.

thanks
