This is indeed a great post. I use Regimental Fire and Fury for the rules and mainly 28mm figures. I have about 50 regiments per side with a variety of manufacturers as I have been working on this for about the last 25-30 years.. I have slowly been replacing the last true 25's I have with 28mm figures. I recently purchased enough Brigade Games miniatures to replace the last of the 25's. The Brigade minis are outstanding. I would state that if I had to do it all over again I would do it in 15's, simply because of the amount of space (on the table and off) that 28mm figures/buildings/terrain need. I have a 12 foot table and can easily fill it. Additionally, transporting and setting up to game away from the house is an endeavor all its own.

As far as the actual units go I strive to have each unit as accurate as it can possibly be. However, for gaming purposes I don't get caught up in the exact OOB's or where what regiment was at at a particular time or what exactly they were wearing at a particular time. If they were in the American theatre sometime during the war and are wearing uniforms that were worn at some point during the war then that is good enough for my table!

I did some research a while ago on facing colours of the British regiments that fought in the war. Outside "royal" regiments (which had dark blue facings), the most common facing colours were yellow and dark green, followed by buff and orange. There were then other regiments which had facing colours that were very much an "outlier" (e.g. the 33rd with its red facings, the 64th with black).
