Was this the most powerfull or best tank at WW2? Considering that most likely no such vehicle was actually fielded in WW2, I would say no. This looks like yet another "1946 what-if", though it might be of interest for the Weird World War II gamers. Considering the distribution of weight, I probably would not like to try driving one of those up a steep hill. |

Oh to have some of these in 15mm (santa are you listening?) |

Isn't this tank? link Amicalement Armand |

No. Your link is to the Tiger II. The plan at the top of the link is an early design that was not produced. Cheers, Johng |

I'd hate to be in that turret either. Probably a real SOB to load. |

Have to say, it does look 'cosey', never liked the idea of one turret hatch either! |

It doesn't look like there's room for the turret basket as the hull rear is still sloped like the standard panther hull. It'd have to be conical which wouldn't leave much room for the gunner and loader. |
jdginaz | 31 Dec 2011 5:10 p.m. PST |
The gun breach would take up most of the room in the turret. |

Turret appear WAY too small for the gun. Pathetic sloping on the turret. Looks like it can hold about 10 shots. If the engine is in front then it might have good crew survivability from frontal hits (if they don't burn) Firing to the side looks like it would be bad idea. |

To be fair, I think the turret is the one proposed for the Panther F, the Schmallturm(?) turret, although I suspect the gun has had a dose of viagra. |

If the engine is in front then it might have good crew survivability from frontal hits (if they don't burn) Except for the driver and radio operator, who still seem to be placed in the very front. |

It does very much look like the smallturm for the Panther 11 (i think) and it was designed to be a small target, harder to hit, but it would have, sometime! as for the breech, well there never does seem to be a lot of room when they recoil, I was in Chieftan's and you would have to be pretty thin (or stupid!) to stand directly behind the breech. I'd suspect a safety shield would have been fitted. As for ammo, again I would guess a fair few rounds would be stored below the turret for safety, just keep enough ammo in the turret as 'ready rounds', but hey, this is all conjuncture as I dont think it was ever built, and I was not there! |

Oh to have some of these in 15mm (santa are you listening?) Once PSC makes plastic Panthers in 15 mm, the hull should be pretty simple to do – just cut the top deck into pieces and rearrange them. No idea where to get a suitable turret, though. |

The turret does look like the Panther F's but the rest is weird war madness. Great paint and conversion, Brian |

I agree. It must be a Panther F turret. |
